She came in to the restaurant I worked in 2015 at Universal Studios Hollywood. She was so excited that I recognized her. I was so excited about how excited she was. She stands out with her hair, but there's a zillion women in Hollywood that would make a guy stop in their tracks. So when I asked "Are you Bonnie Mckee!?" her eyes lit up like Christmas.

You can't? 1) Awful lyrics 2) Desperate performance 3) Glamorizing crime as "American" Unless there was a deeper message, it's unappealing and excessive at the surface. This is a really fascinating song. I always viewed it as another Teenage Dream-esque party anthem, but the lyrics are actually more of a critique of American culture rather than the typical vague praising of it. It’s also bleakly accurate. Everyone is being raised by TV and competition is at an all time high.

Ugh I’d give ANYTHING to go back to being a teenager - I’m 26 & trust me, if I could I would give up whatever I had to to be able to re-live my teens. The stress of school only compared to not being able to go to college because I had to work to pay my bills? Super sucky. Adulthood is beyond stressful; paying for housing, utilities, food, car maintenance/insurance & health insurance (and having to pick a health insurance plan without any help) annnd hoping that your paychecks will be able to cover the expenses due or that the bills you can’t pay don’t have late fees that are super expensive / if you overdraft your bank account that you can repay it before overdraft fees quadruple... LoL it’s A LOT. Be thankful you’re a teenager.

azbuno wooz How I'm I racist if the only thing I did was named a Province? I didn't include a race anywhere you moron, just the Province. And honestly, your comeback is lame as fudge :/ Also, please go learn the REAL meaning/definition of the word "racist" instead of throwing it everywhere like a freaking dumb ass :D

azbuno wooz congratz on showing everyone on KZbin how dumb you are. You can't even spell correctly either not even make proper sentences. Oh btw, your first phrase didn't make any sense at all :D Oh and that person that "never payed attention in school" is obviously you since you don't even know the real meaning & definition of the word "racist" because you used it in the wrong way by accusing me of supposedly being "racist" when I just simply insulted the entire Province and NOT the people in it. :) Besides, I live there: I should know how people are :D especially since most of them can't even talk/speak, type/write correctly at all in English :) I rarely see any Quebecers that are capable of doing things in English properly because most of them, are lazy fucks who doesn't put ANY efforts in English classes :D

Well that's nice. But this song sucks. I'm actually not a fan of Roar either. It's catchy, I'll give it that. But just because something becomes a hit, doesn't mean it deserves to be. Lol

Also, I just googled it (out of curiosity) and apparently Roar was written by 5 people, and Katy and Bonnie are listed as "accompanying" the writing process. So she didn't really write Roar, did she?

The rude comment's funny. For the americans responding to my message, I don't hate you guys. All I'm saying is that I think it's sad that American girls feel like they need to be extremely sexual and out there to be liked. I just wish they could understand that being themselves and having their own standards is important. More important than being the stereotypical girl/singer.

This may very well be one of the Greatest Pop Songs ever written, where most of America can relate and the video is Arguably one of the most Beautiful, Psychedelic and Outrageous Displays of Pop Art Fun, I've ever seen, not to be taken too seriously and emotional and thought provoking in just the right moments, a balance of Sexy and Edgy, without going overboard. It captures a moment of the United States, when we were still Innocent, before 2015 America.
