When someone gives an exceptionally good performance, usually in a setting of artists and their colleagues, shoes are thrown onto the stage or performance area to show praise. If Lin tossed his, some crazed fan will probably snatch it up as a souvenir - so just waving it in the air is the safer alternative 😂
