I think it's a good way to teach children to give and think what would make others happy. They also learn that it gives yourself joy when you give to others.

Happy birthday Joel!!!! For your Hawaii trip- We rent a house and stay in Oahu every year on the north shore in Haleiwa ( we stay for a week!) Not so touristy, the beaches are beautiful and not crowded! The snorkeling is amazing, turtles are everywhere, food is awesome!!! I highly recommend renting a house, it's the best when you have kids- especially if you get one right on the beach!!! Anyways, I can go on and on about how much I love it there, seeing you experience it for the first time was so magical to watch! Can't wait to see you all go!!:)

hi bonnie and Joel... we have stayed in an air b &b with our 5 kids and it was so great. definitely something you should consider. it feels more "homey" and nice when you can have a full kitchen and bedrooms and a yard for the kids rather than a hotel. and it's cheaper too!! xxoo happy birthday Joel

I agree with Joel about you never know if life will change so you should take a vacation. I went on a huge vacation with my family and 2 months later my dad was diagnosed with leukemia and he recently passed away. I'm so glad we went on that vacation to share time together :)
