I absolutely LOVE that you guys have a family Bible-and-prayer time in the mornings; when I was little we would read Bible stories and pray together as a family before going to bed, and now that I’m grown up and married, my husband and I pray together every morning when we wake up, and every night before we fall asleep ☺️🙏🏻🙏🏻 As you say, it is a special moment where we come together in thankfulness and peace, can cast all our cares onto God, and either go into the day or fall asleep feeling peaceful, calm, connected to one another and connected to God. I absolutely love hearing about you guys’ faith; definitely feel free to share as much as you feel comfortable sharing!! ☺️😘💕

Bonnie I hope you read this. I think one thing that might really help your kids stay on track in the morning is a little checklist downstairs for them to go by before they go upstairs just to make sure they have what you want done. I have one for my kids and it saves my sanity lol.

I love that you guys re group and say a prayer together before the days activities. Lincoln is getting so big. Loved to see him folding his arms and then when he said Amen was so endearing.. I love how structured your days are Bonnie. I have always felt that children thrive with a structured routine and all your children are well mannered and I love that they don’t fight you in the mornings like my youngest used too. Bonnie, when your instant pot says the L..., your oatmeal is cooked. You just have to flip the valve to release the pressure manually. You did what is called natural release and it takes a LONG time. But there is no need to wait for that ;-)

I love your morning routine, there's a lot I can learn from and incorporate into our routine. I just wanted to say, I'm not a religious person but I am glad that you shared your morning family prayer, even though you were hesitant to. I think it's nice to see a family come together and it's something powerful so although I am not someone you would label as a Christian, I am glad you shared it, it's something positive and I love seeing people be positive with their families, no matter what faith it comes from. I can't wait to get my book and I am loving this morning routine. I am a new mama, my daughter will be 1 year old this month and I always take some sort of ''Parenting Advice'' from you guys and Ellie and Jared as well. Our daughter started TK last week. Unfortunately, it's "late start" (10:10) and I'm amazed at how difficult that is on our routine!! And your explanation of gathering for reading of dogma and family worship is akin to many cultures' similar practices of family prayer and meditation. The meditation aspect of the prayer is such a gift for your children. It is a practice that will serve them well into adulthood. Religious or not, centering oneself in the morning, giving a moment in time for your space in the universe, on the planet, it's all beautiful. Thank you for continuing to share your authenticity.

Loved it! I tried instant pot steel cut oats and it works really well, BUT it does still take a while! It’s a bit of a long process to warm up...just start it early! Boston is so cute getting into the routine of school! ❤️
