Bonobo Conservation Initiative - Our Mission

Bonobo Conservation Initiatiave president, Sally Jewell Coxe, discusses the threats to bonobos and efforts BCI has made towards conservation. BCI engages local communities to help with conservation efforts. In Kokolopori Bonobo Reserve, the pilot and model reserve in the Bonobo Peace Forest, BCI has established a health clinic, founded a technical college, and started sustainable agriculture projects providing better quality foods.

I would love to go over there ... Just to be a volunteer I would leave America in a heart beat .... Just to learn more about the bonobos that's my dream before I leave this ole world I'll be 49 in July

When you say that bonobos can use human language, do you mean like sign language or can they replicate sounds and words? How much can they do?
