Bonobos: Most Endangered Apes in the world

The Bonobo, also known as the pygmy chimpanzee, is a close relative of the common chimpanzee and is found exclusively in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
They are one of the least known and most endangered species of great apes in the world.
These intelligent apes are known for their peaceful and matriarchal society, where cooperation and social bonds play a central role in their lives. Bonobos share 98.7% of their DNA with humans, making them one of our closest living relatives in the animal kingdom.
