No you can't do root pruning on other plants now, do it in rainy season, champa or Jade par abhi kar sakte ho.

If you are doing it first time ,replace half of the soil and prune the root's found there, plants need proper care, repotting and Fertilizers to grow , check what is missing.

Sir mere champa tree ke roots me bhot sare fungus lag gai the so I have reported it in small pot like bonsai mene roots me fevicol use Kiya hu like fungicide sir kya Mera tree ek bonsai ka form le le ga. Agar le le ga to usme leafs aane me Kitna time lega
