Two beautiful trees. I have a young Scots pine, should i be pinching candles now to balance energy or should i be letting it gain size and vigor first. Is candle pinching a refinement technique?
@Torabonsaischool Жыл бұрын
I never pinch the trees before stying ... and yes it is a refinement technique

Fabulous videos as always. What do you do with the candles you didn't pinch? Do you leave them grow fully or pinch them when they get longer?
@Torabonsaischool Жыл бұрын
I leave them grow fully.

Would you pinch Scots pine candles on a tree that was freshly repotted ? I mean this Spring.
@Torabonsaischool Жыл бұрын
Depends on how the tree reacted - if the candles are long and strong, then yes.

Tomaz, can you cut old needles off at the same time as pinching the tips? I love the Juniper, have you any future plans to thin the top out, it looks top heavy to my eyes?

I never cut the needles at the same time as I pinch. I always wait to see, how the new candles will develop. Thanks for watching!

Do you place your cuttings in a greenhouse or just in a shaded area?
@Torabonsaischool Жыл бұрын
In the greenhouse for first few weeks, than in a shaded area outside.
