In this episode of our Bonsai Rool Basics, our local bonsai expert, Mr Ogawa, explore five essential bonsai tools that every enthusiast should consider adding to their collection.
First up, we have scissors, with the Satsuki model being an excellent choice for beginners, handy for trimming inner and long branches alike. Tweezers come next, and having two sets of different sizes proves advantageous for tasks like repotting and working with pine trees. Branch cutters enhance efficiency, especially for larger bonsai. Wire cutters and Jin pliers are crucial for precise wire manipulation during shaping and repotting. Lastly, larger scissors are recommended for tackling thicker branches and roots during repotting, offering versatility. Alongside these core tools, specialized options like the Knob Cutter, root cutters, and trunk splitters are also discussed, all tailored to specific bonsai needs. Remember to choose tools that align with your unique preferences and requirements for a successful bonsai journey.
