I was going to suggest that you cut the branch off, then saw that you had the same conclusion. Looks a lot better and way more interesting now.🎉

Nice tree, I really like the movement and size. I think removing that straight branch was a good move.

I've got a few of those metal pots too..Be careful with them in the summer, because they get really hot if left out in the sun..

@@dkstott29 ah, I hadn't thought of that. Hmm, that's kind of a downside.

@BonsaiBoise I left mine in full sun this summer & cooked the roots of 2 little trees in the maroon colored versions. Gave the pots to goodwill..No more metal pots for me..

@dkstott29 good to know. I may keep these in a shady spot in the summertime then. Thanks for the heads up!

I like the direction you went. It definitely has a good structure for its age. Could the straight side have been left as jin? Or would that work well, given that as the tree grows, the jin would remain constant and eventually be disproportionate?

Not really sure, I don't have any personal experience with jin, but I don't know if it can actually be done on a tropical tree.

@ fair enough! I don’t recall seeing tropical jin, so maybe with some of my future trees from cuttings it’ll be experiment time. Very new to bonsai

Why did you put a wire on it and not bend it?
@BonsaiBoise
@BonsaiBoise 19 күн бұрын
I did bend it. I did it early in the video in the clip from January 2024. I just took it off at some point over the summer.
