Well thank you for the compliment! I honestly love these stage in the bonsai process. It's the first step in the creative process. My favorite.

@@BonsaiBoise yah this stage is exciting, and then I like to watch them age myself. Just trees in general. Watching them grow year after year is amazing.

What a great tutorial. I've been resisting to finally do something with a pot with five 🤕Gardenia shoots and now you encouraged me to get this sorted out. Just following you step by step. Cool.

Good luck on yours! I've had mixed luck with these so far but there's hope for this one.

your voice is so relaxing somehow :D i also had some gardenias back then, and when it flowered, oh man you're knowing it already probably, the smell is soo intense, only weed smells more :D my whole apartment was like a flower box with those gardenias. but.. they died on me aswell xD
@BonsaiBoise Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think I might put one outside this summer and keep one in the greenhouse/grow tent and see which one does better.

heavy fruiting annuals do take a ton of energy to fruit or flower. thats true.. ive killed a few of these too mike lols. and it was when i was using peat based potting soil in my mix too. i might try one again. they smell so amazing. perdy too. thanks for sharing
@BonsaiBoise Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike! You know what confuses me, is how all these store bought plants and trees look so full and healthy even though they're in peat based soil. If I even look at peat soil my trees die. Weird

enjoy watching you grow your little trees, have you ever tried using Hibiscus plants? took me a while but got a few to grow from seeds. I have both tropical and hearty ones, Im in growing zone 6 up by Lake Erie.
@BonsaiBoise Жыл бұрын
Thanm you! And yes, I both love and not love hibiscus. Mostly love them, and it's not their fault for the "not love" part. They tend to attract aphids. But that's the price of beauty I guess. I had a couple that I air layered from a big outdoor hardy plant a few years back. I fortunately they died when I moved houses. Would love another shot at one someday though. Also, I love lake Erie! I went to cedar point a lot as a kid.

I have a few of these too.. I've left the odd flower on a couple and removed the flowers off others.. Im looking forward to seeing them flower. I would not be suprised about the 90% thing as the flowers look big judging by the size of the buds on mine. I've not seen mine flower as yet which is why I have left them :) Great video as always. 😄Thanks for sharing too 🙏

Thank you! I'm really hoping these flower this summer, though I'm not holding my breath. I probably hacked it too much for them to flower this year. ✂️

Awesome work! My wife is getting interested in bonsai and we might make it a hobby we do together. We picked up a beautiful gardenia with a pretty thick trunk for the size, so just gotta get some other stuff and get ready to tackle it! Question, where did you get that little sprayer for the water bottle?
@BonsaiBoise Жыл бұрын
I just got them from Amazon. I think a pack of like 8 of them were $5ish? They work great!

@@BonsaiBoise dang I just bought a fairly good sized one. I’m keeping it in the grow tent and in its nursery growing medium. Bought from a local who uses good soil. Hoping to take it slow for a couple years and see how she does with what I can provide
@BonsaiBoise2 ай бұрын
@@baldyeti my best advice is to not take any of my advice because I suck at them lol. Every time I've tried, they did fine and then suddenly, boom. Dead. No change, nothing, just randomly decides to die. No idea what I'm doing wrong on them.
