I literally get so excited every time I see we're looking at a juniper again. I learn something new about working with them from every one of your videos AND they're just gorgeous!! Thank you for doing another juniper 😂I look forward to the next one

Each juniper has its now mind. Thery were not shaped when I plant them...just one gallon nursery stock. These might have been cut once or twice in their lifetime. I cut them when they grew too long. That is, I do cut them from time to time to keep it compact. OK, I will show what small nursery stock looks like.

You continue to show and explain to us your decisions on initial styling of that juniper. I can imagine what it’ll look like in, say, 2-3 years. Looking forward to your followup videos on it progress.

Love the juniper videos! I just started in bonsai and I got a couple large nursery plants that I need to trim heavily and propagate! Waiting for the last of the hard frosts before I do it early spring, too much cycles of thawing and heavy freezing to do it now I would think. Unfortunately my area has a very high water table in winter so I'd have to be careful where I plant them.

I love it when you work on junipers! Quick question? Why did you decide to leave it in the growing pot instead of the bonsai pot? It looked really good in that bonsai pot you had it in while you were pruning lol

I think it grows faster with more room and more nutrition, as it's a bonsai that's being developed? and then in the bonsai pot it grows slower, and that's why - as shaping it put it back to the pot till read for bonsai pot? but I could be wrong as only just started looking at it.

Hi Mr Chang. I’ve been watching your videos and I really admire your job. Bear in mind that some people are fast to criticize yet refrain from showing others what they are capable of doing. I wonder why.

so agree... those who criticize have "Napoleon's Complex"/Inferiority Issues! Dr Chang promotes a "Non Traditional" style while acknowledging tradition, to make each artform your own (Custom?). to those who criticize, GO START YOUR OWN CHANNEL!

Hello Milton, I haven't ever seen you wash out the dirt from the roots before repotting a tree, whilst I have seen many do so. How come? Love to see you working on your junipers. Greetings from Portugal!

Beautiful tree! Was wondering if you could cover your exact shaping method for when you planted your 100 junipers in the ground over 20 years ago. Did you shape this juniper with wire over the years to achieve this look? Would be cool to see a demo video of yourself starting from scratch by planting another juniper in the ground and showing us your entire process.

Is that a blue alp juniper? I just bought a twin trunk big v shaped one. I want to make my first ever bonsai out of it. I would like to send its photo to you and hear your recommendations of its main structure. It is a big tree and I want to make a big bonsai.

Hey Milton, big up yourself! Don’t listen to them haters..the comments section is full of experts who apparently know everything but they’re watching your videos aimed at beginners?! It’s hilarious. Just know there’s many of us lurking in the shadows who appreciate free information and would never be as farcical as to criticise. Thanks

How amusing to read your comment of one long run-on sentence with 2 separate subjects, and no punctuation. And your first point was how Milton doesn’t explain things well. 😂 I have no problem understanding Milton at all. And the 99% of us who watch his channel on a regular basis obviously are impressed, otherwise we wouldn’t be watching.
