If you want a really good time travel series, possibly better than steins gate, the 12 monkey series is really good. And season one is relative grounded, but season 2 onward gets really intereting with a time travel war and more comple even and pilosophical, fun, zany, and great characters. And more surprisingly, its tighly written that consistent explains literally everything. It also goes into what makes time travel complicated and wolnt spoil more, actually tight logical yet zany fun and sad.

Good job. however,, Steins Gate Zero is NOT an alternate ending. The events of Zero truly happened after Okabe originally gave up on saving Kurisu in the events of Steins Gate episode 23 (see episode 23.5). He eventually recovered and decided to continue saving the world, and finally after years of work he also came up with the solution to save both mayuri and kurisu, thus the phone call from the future okabe in the last episode of Steins Gate, episode 24!
@marocat47492 жыл бұрын
Cming to terms with it, which h did eventually and find new hope is in line too. He came up with that after the hard work to pull himself together, so he did work throgh it and its part what gets him there. I would argue past okabe by willing to go ther did earn help, from hemself to do the seeming impossible.

To this day I still can't understand how the hell they wrote such a damn good element in an unplanned sequel to a near-perfectly closed timeloop. Okabe and Kurisu still end up together in the steins gate world line, it’s also much more in line with the themes of the show, the show isn’t meant to support fatalism, steins gate 0’s ending loops back to the steins gate world line anyway, it’s about defying your fate even when it feels like it’s impossible, and dealing with personal trauma and the consequences of ones actions

The video is very good but here's two corrections: No matter what you do in the Alpha Worldline, SERN and the Committee will always be the rulers of the world. The WWIII you are talking about is in the Beta worldline. And S;G 0, while considered an alternate ending, it still happened and is the culmination of all past 0kabes that finally did the Operation to reach Steins Gate. Steins;Gate is an amazing show and the way things are explained makes sense. And the fact that him ultimately saving everyone from WWIII is just a small scale in the whole Science Adventure is just so good.

I think my favorite thing about this channel is how, regardless of what you’re talking about, you always bring a unique discussion topic to the table. Anytime I put on a Bonsai Pop video, I know I’m going to get a fresh viewpoint. Steins;Gate is my favorite anime, but I haven’t ever seen discussion about consequences as one of its themes. I guess it is a little understated compared with some of its other themes, but that’s exactly why I think focusing on something new is great. Thanks for the video.

This is an excellent review of the central core of the Steins;Gate story. Well done. There's one thing I wanted to ask. You say that the ending of Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 are different. They are but again they are not. SG0's ending enables Steins;Gate's ending for us. The true difference is experienced by the respective Okabes; Steins;Gate Okabe saves Kurisu, whereas Alpha World Okabe has still lost her and knows he will never see her again. Again, thank you for the excellent video of my favorite anime.

This was the anime that took it to another level for so many people. Brought it out of being something that you just watched weekly to something that blew your mind weekly. I've watched SG and SG0 through I think 4 times because over the years I'll forget some details and it'll surprise me all over again. I also super highly recommend playing that games! That opens up an entire can of worms all over again and I often forget if it was the game or the show where something happened. Yeah one of my all time favorites for sure.

Yeah that's how I felt about Eva when it first aired in my country. For the truly great and unique shows having to wait a week between episodes makes the experience so much more impactful. Instead of bingeing it in a day or two allowing the story to slowly unravel over 3-6 months, and spending those weekly interims thinking and theorising makes a world of difference.

Steins;Gate is the most bingable anime besides Baccano, which is impressive on Steins;Gate's part because not only is it double in length, but it doesn't split constantly between character perspectives which was the main reason for Baccano's bingability. In what feels like three hours you've already watched 18 episodes. Usually this kind of pacing is not the selling point of a show for me, but I think it really benefits Steins;Gate as a beginner-friendly anime that has a lot more under its surface than others.

16:15 Explanation: . C.E.R.N. (the real life one) was fundamental in the creation of the Internet (the famous HTML & TCP/IP Protocols). It also researched (R.) the theoretical basis for the cellphone comunication system. . S.E.R.N. (the one from Steins Gate) did the same, but also put a "backdoor" that was eventually used in every [national, public, regulated] system of comunications using S.M.S. or anything similar. This creates a secret "shadow copy" of ALL messages ever sent. . There is a "New World Order Conspiracy" ( The Comitee of the 300 ) that tries to _dominate the world_ ( "The Organization" of Okabe´s "delirum" ); they are regulary checking for any "mismatch" DATA or anomalies [including the metadata trace an SMS sent "backwards" in time would leave in their antennas/subsystems], because they EXPECTED to "hear themselves" sending some data from the future. -> This is a very slow automated system (rarely being supervised by actual humans). The time that has to pass from the moment a "Delorean-Mail" arrived at the past ( & when someone working on this "secret SMS spying" noticed a mismatch) changes depending how many other DMails have being sent [then "goons" are to be sent to retrieve the objects at the lab and capture/kill the people in it]. -> Even just the original "Makise Kurisu is dead" half_broken DMail is enough to cause the death of Mayuri [but ONLY if it is eventually DETECTED by REAL PEOPLE]. Instead of preventing the creation/arrival of the DMail, Daru found a way to "edit" the secret database (before it is seen by a human), so the contents & metadata of the "anomalous" SMS are masked/deleted.

6:55 OMG, I just realized that they showed us the ending of Zero right at the start. That man's scream was an alternate Okabe Stabbing Himself, Reality was deceived from the very start of the show.

There's also another quantum theory that states that because the only consistent element of time-travel needs to be the time traveler themselves. Time Town time travel can be non continuous and consequential. If you travel back in time to assassinate yourself before you invented the time machine. The version of yourself the trouble to timer would still exist and it would have killed you before you traveled back in time. But because of traveling through time is something that cannot be altered. You dying prior to time travel does not actually.

Not sure if you picked this up, (If not, it's totally understandable.) but the alternate timeline that is S;G0 is the timeline that was required for Steins;Gate to exist in the first place. S;G0 Okabe is the Okabe we see in the D-mail video that helps Okabe reach Steins;Gate.
