New show idea: Im reincarnated as truck kun, now i reverse isekai all the bland male heroes
@imALazyPanda8 ай бұрын
I've had a similar idea that I entertain in my head every so often following truck kun. Episode 1 opens: a man about to leave for work and his little sister confesses to him. He explains that its not healthy to feel that way and that when he gets home from work they will look into therapy. Walks outside and is flattened by a truck. Scene then switches to inside the truck where the driver is freaking out that the now dead man said he wasn't going to bang his little sister and that its going to reflect poorly on the drivers performance review isekai-ing someone with morals. As the driver is reviewing his checklist he lets out a sigh of relief "atleast it says here that dude was ok with slavery". As the show progresses the demon lords of the multiple worlds form a coalition and try to stop truck-kun by sending various things to earth which truck-kun must run over to complete his mission. And it all culminates with truck-kun running over God. I'm not a writer so this will never become a reality but its an idea that I've had floating in my head for a while. Every so often when I'm bored i flesh it out a little more.
@goranisacson25028 ай бұрын
@@imALazyPanda I think I am a simpleton because if the Isekai Trucker bemoaning his poor choice of protag-kun because he's not an incest-freak, but then sighing in relief because he is at least a slavery-freak feels like a joke that happens in a Simpsons-episode where being a weeb is so mainstream the Simpsons makes jokes about it... and I still laughed. Would absolutely be here for Truck-kun flattening God in the final episode. Bonus if he thinks to himself "What would Optimus-senpai do" and the final battle happens to Transformers music. "You got the touch" as his wheels pancake Jehovah would be... well, it would be something.
@imALazyPanda8 ай бұрын
@@goranisacson2502 yeah my brain has been tainted by decades of American adult cartoon comedy. I could see the Simpsons doing something on anime, I don't watch it but I know they've done niche things in the past. There was an episode where Lisa collects hat pins, which I've only ever seen at music festivals and even then its a subset of people who go to festivals. I only know this because I have hat pins and people have commented they thought it was something the Simpson essentially made up. Thats definitely more obscure at this point as anime has become pretty mainstream.

The first Truck-kun incident that I remember was in the Mermaid Saga manga by Rumiko Takahashi; in the Mermaid Forest mini-series, Mana gets struck by a truck and (seemingly) killed to set off the events of the story (if you haven't read the manga, she and her companion Yuta are immortal, more or less--they die but any injuries short of complete disintegration or beheading eventually heal and they come back to life). Knowing Takahashi's sense of humor, it was probably a direct parody of Minky Momo, which had re-aired, if I remember correctly from the Ken Lauderdale video about MM, in 1986, the year before the Mermaid Forest chapter was published. Strangely, when the OAV was made a few years later, they changed her "death" to falling off a cliff rather than being Truck-kun's victim.

From what i remember "truck-kun" was definitely a thing before 2006. And i feel like i remember it coming from the Nissan joke. At least in the US where and when i grew up, anime and manga were starting to become more accepted in the late 90s early 00s. And the translations started to be more faithful. Combined with the increase in scanlation sites. So terms like "kun" and "san" started to become much more known. Around that time that was when i first remember hearing the Nissan joke and truck-kun. Which i am quite sure was around 2003. Considering it had a large spike in 06. I would actually assume that the term really was floating around, probably in a convergent evolution type way.

Honestly? That could be super interesting? MC comes from a sort of futuristic, wartorn version of our world, where combat mechas are the common weapon of choice. He gets isekaid into a common early mideval, low tech fantasy world, but due to being a mech mechanic, he has some rudimentary knowledge of how to make them. Sorta like Dr Stone, but with mechas and elven catgirls?

Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend, which Yu Yu Hakusho seems inspired by to some degree, does have Truck-Kun instead of a car... at least in the manga. Although Truck-kun doesn’t hit the protagonist, he’s a demon and gets away just fine, but it does crash into other people. He also does save the baby Truck-Kun was about to hit. So maybe one of the first parody of the now standard “saving kid from Truck-Kun” scene. Parody because not only does the demon not get hit, he’s confused why he even saved the kid to begin with and just throws it into a river. The start of the Urotsukidōji manga would’ve been just two years after the airing of the Magical Princess Minky Momo episode.

Similarly, Aura Battler Dunbine, genrrally considered the first isekai anime, features a car which attempts to drive the protagonist off the road, however he survives as he drives over it in a stunt on his motorbike where a magic portal suddenly appears in front.
