For large plastic training pots for Yamadori you can go to a home imporvement store and buy a painter's tray, they are nice and deep and you can put holes in the bottom they hold about 20 gallons of soil and would keep a tree healthy for about four to five years..

Thanks Ben! Pines, especially (Sylverstris Pinus) needs to be collected with as much roots as possible, because some mycorrhizae is hidden and stuck to the roots, so for example you can never bareroot a Scots Pine... Welcome to BT (if i havent said it before!)

Hi, I live in southern Finland so it's quite wet all year around and about 17-26 degrees celcius in the summer here. I have a 1 year old Norway Maple and a couple of 2-3 years old Scots Pines that I collected last spring. Do you think 1/2 acadama and 1/2 sphagnum moss would be a good soil mix for the trees? or should I use something different?
@BonsaiTalk
@BonsaiTalk 5 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a very good mix ESPECIALLY for Scots Pines. Roots are sensitive and spagnum Moss can make Wonders. Welcome to BT Kalle.

Hej!
@BonsaiTalk
@BonsaiTalk 5 жыл бұрын
