So you can be talented, attractive, rich and devoted to God? How refreshing! A podcast/ interview with no profanity, no glorifying drugs, sex, alcohol, or dissing someone else. How cool is this. Thank you Michael for your example. Not perfect, but forgiven.

Love this kid. Super mature mindset for someone his age, and the job he’s in. So easy to be his age and get caught up in the world, especially when you’re in the limelight and have women all over you. Love that he has bigger missions and plans after basketball, and knows basketball isn’t everything. We have a far greater calling! Praying this kid stays on the right path and God continue to put the right people in his life to guide him and keep him on the course God has for him.

Hearing about your injury really is so crazy, it reminds me of my career ending injury of when I was running cross country in college. I injured both of my shins my junior year and was in rehab for a year thinking I could make a run (no pun intended) my final year of college. But it messed me up really hard when I found out that my athletic trainer didn't clear me to run because I still wasn't cleared to run. I started drinking pretty heavily around my junior year due to being really depressed and felt so lost and hit absolute rock bottom my senior year. I was at a Christian university and just felt like God left me. All my friends had so many good stories about what God was doing and I felt like I had nothing. But little did I know God would meet me in that place and really show himself to me. He healed me in so many different parts of my heart that were hurting and allowed me to find joy in the small things in life instead of only putting my hope in my sport. In hindsight, God really needed me to stop focusing so much on running so I can learn about who He truly is. Although it sounds really unfortunate that my injury ended my running career, I couldn't be happier that God met me in that place and really transformed my relationship with Him.

Congrats Mike on your Curious Mike project with Cierra, have truly enjoyed all the episodes. Worked with your mom many, many years ago at HP in Greeley, and got to know your dad pretty well up through the Rhalo years, watching your family grow each year in the annual Christmas cards. Your parents have both been a true inspiration to me, and now I not only get to watch you thrive in the NBA, but more importantly watch what you will contribute through your testimony to the world of your love of Christ. That love will carry you through whatever trials you will inevitably face in the future. With a whole bunch of love and well wishes, peace out!

Hey Mike, huge Nuggets fan for over a decade from Serbia and one of your biggest fan even before Nuggets drafted you. We all love Nikola and Jamal, but i have a feeling that you are the guy that will be the IT factor in Nuggets winning the championship in not so far future. My wish for you is that you become an all-star this year and #1 scoring option for our Nuggets. You averaged 14 FGA previous year. Should be around 20 FGA this year and moving forward IMO. I really really hope and pray that once Jamal comes back, chemistry between the BIG 3 will be great and without EGO. I am 100% sure that in order to win Nikola will have (and gladly will) take less shots in order to keep you and Jamal involved much more. You can become one of the best NBA players with this team and Nuggets can become a new dinasty like GSW. Please stay in Denver, we love you!

Then, via a challenge in a Christian men's group, I decided to put the thought of any relationships or pursuit of any women on hold for 6 months. It was almost to the day -6 months later when I met my wife. Now we've been married 7 years. I honestly can't believe it's been that long just typing this. You are both on the right path. Keep it up. YEA MIKE ! I remember that draft night. I was sitting on my ankles on the floor begging "Please don't pick him. Please don't pick MJP" and every pick that went by and was a deep breath of relief with each team passing on him. I had been following MJP since middle school or something and i always thought he was going #1 on the Draft because this kid is so talented and got the potential of KD. I read those articles on his year in college about MJP not being top 5 because injuries and how he might never play again i never believe those. I was on denied saying "NAAAH. He's going #1. Everyone know MJP is the best or 2# best player on that draft year. For sure he's going top 3. Luka,Trae and MPJ depending on team needs". Then i came to reality and saw #1 passing on Luka,Trae and MJP, Then 2, then 3, then 4,5,6,7 and i was YOYOYOYOYYO IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!. BROOOO Is he going to my Nuggets?!. Got off my chair and sat on the floor and started to ask "Please don't pick him". The moment i saw Denver drafting him i threw the loudest scream in the middle of the night. Started jumping and running on my hallway hands in the air. I texted all my friends about it and one of my friends who shared the same view about how good MJP is texted me saying "OMG YOU GUYS JUST GOT THE STEAL OF THE DRAFT !!. How he fell off this much. Injuries? People were willing to be on Embiid back, but not on MPJ?!. You guys are stacked know"

The advice your Cierra gave about being patient & not entertaining is something I had to learn overtime. & is the best advice I give to my friends. It’s definitely was challenging especially since being alone for years in the midst of trying to find out the woman I want to be & being far away from all my loved ones didn’t help. It was hard. I just tried to fill the lone void with relationships with ppl I knew I couldn’t see a future with. Obviously, those relationships didn’t workout but I’m grateful because God knew my worth before I could ever see it & he has a greater man who’s being praying for me as much as I been praying for him, waiting for me. A man who will truly be deserving of all that God has instilled in me to be the best woman/future wife I can be. I just have to be patient. Im still being patient 🙄🙇🏼♀️ it’s hard but when I feel like im fall into temptation & just settle for whatever. He reminds me of my value & how worth the wait it will be once He finally presents my future husband into my life. All that I been praying for will all be worth it! 😭

9:20 Michael I don’t want you to think of it that way. You and I both know basketball is very situational, you could be the #1 pick and be a bust in the team’s system, you could be the #1 pick and get injured again you could be a top 5 pick and not even manage your money right (not saying you wouldn’t) or get no playing time. You getting injured during draft, having reflection time, and being drafted by the Nuggets will ultimately define your success (your still very young) what the enemy (Devil) intended you to harm you with, God will use for good, to prosper you,Genesis 50:20. So give all the glory to God, pre game, after games, during games, at home, at night, in the morning, anywhere because God brought you here and got you drafted which you know already. I just want you to remember that because he’s given you your life and also purpose through basketball
