This is one of his most underrated songs ever. It's in my top 5 favorites of his and will never lose its place. Lyrically its genius and if you play guitar it's also pretty ingenious and there isn't even a solo in the Try! version. That's presence.

He literally created a genre. Hendrix/pop. Who did you think I was, Good love is on the way and another kind of green are three masterpieces.

@@svensvensson6705 well it’s pretty much rock but his voice is just not so ‘heavy’ so it sounds more poppy

@@niekvanwensen So if Brian Johnson was sining another kind of green. It would just be called rock

@@svensvensson6705 maybe another kind of green not but good love is on the way and who did you think are definitely blues-rock songs

@@niekvanwensen kzbin.info/www/bejne/hX_IhYZ9e5Vog80 Pretty clear who he was channeling when he wrote this song...and then dedicated the outro to one of the Band of Gypsy's more obscure, but awesome, songs: Power of Soul.

1:26 when she says "I love this part". That has stuck with me forever from this video. And then when john just delivers.

this is how he'd write his songs I think! He'd write a rough version then perform it, not for the audience approval, but to see if it's "ok" in a live situation, he'd then go and master it! Then BAM, all those people who didn't shut up lost out!

Bro this performance of this song pure acoustic is absolutely amazing!! Bro acoustic mayer is arguably better to see than band mayer-his mastery of the guitar is absolutely incredible. It IS a jimi feel 3:20 !!

Thank you for this video, truly. From Austin, Ive had an SRV tat for ages. Flew to Bangkok, then Jakarta, then Japan last year for my first JM concerts for the love. However, Ive been a May May fan since the first time I heard Stop This Train. I will be in Alaska for the next few months working but will use this video to NAIL down the fingering for this song which is obviously a favorite. This video is a true piece of work. "Hey, this guy is going to help shape guitar mfg and write the sdtrk to your life! Watch!" Thank you

Please, Can anyone tell how John Mayer is creating those sustained overtones that kinda melt away but remain present on the bridge part of this song?? Ive been search for a guitar and strumming development to create that effect?

Does she say it's bluesy and a Jimi feel at 3:28?!? Are there girls around that say shit like that? Come to think of it, it's the lyric in John's song Comfortable where he says she knows the difference between Miles and Coltrane.
