Call me crazy but id say John has more voice control than ever! He sounds great and it’s a healthy sound. The breathy kind of tone he became famous for has been replaced with a more chesty controlled voice. Always a killer head voice(falsetto) though.

I tried learning the riff and humming the words and after a while it just becomes muscle memory until I can sing it without thinking about what my left hand is doing while my right hand is guiding my tempo. Also its easy for Him coz he's John mayer..😊

Iv'e been to every show he has played in my country here in Europe during the last 10 years ( I'm up to 4 or 5 in a row now). And the last time was the first time he ever played Edge of Desire. After the initial cheer everyone just went into their own zone and slowly rocked from side to side while he performed the track.. It was a beautiful moment - No one needed to say anything.. Everyone knew that we all had our own story to this song. Will never forget it.

1-22-2021. This performance is right around when I tested positive for COVID then landed in the hospital about 7 days later, for 10 days, then had a long 2-3 month recovery at home. Ahh good times. Love Martin Acoustics. They sound really great and even though you can purchase better made acoustics at insane prices I just prefer the tone of a Martin guitar. I had a D-28, OM-28, and have a 000-18 and they are great guitars. So many more models I would like to have but Id have to have John Mayer's income.
