Budget airline Bonza has abruptly cancelled all flights, leaving passengers stranded at airports around the country.
Bonza CEO Tim Jordan has released a statement on the issue.
“Bonza has temporarily suspended services due to be operated today (Tuesday 30th of April), as discussions are currently underway regarding the viability of the business,” he said.
“We apologise to our customers who are impacted by this, and we’re working as quickly as possible to determine a way forward that ensures there is ongoing competition in the Australian domestic aviation market.”
Transport Minister Catherine King has also released a statement, saying Qantas and Virgin airlines “stand ready to assist stranded passengers”.
