Well we were able to build it up only because of what went on, otherwise there would be no Australia. I think there's nothing wrong with acknowledgement of Country and welcome to Country, but the thing I'm sick of personally is the big deal that is made over capitalisation, how to write things, who to consult, etc. For instance you have to capitalise Country, Aboriginal, you can't say Aboriginals, you can't say "them", you have to consult elders to avoid "cultural appropriation" like dot painting and the likes. Just so many rules making it seem like you're walking on egg shells and about to get cancelled over things that are nothing to other groups. I want to know how many Aboriginals even care about these rules in the first place..

My great grand parents fought in the war as well, they fought next to aboriginal men, who didn't get the property they were promised on return. I got kicked out of the AFL final between Greater Western Sydney & St Kilda at quarter time. They tried to eject me before the game started - because I was bagging the welcome to country. The St Kilda supporters reported me and lied and said I called Uncle Collin a "black c**t" which I did not do. The funny thing is I am part aboriginal!

Same. I'm not a football person, so the only time I'd ever seen or heard him was back in the day when my ex would watch The Footy Show, and I'd catch bits of it as I pottered around the house doing other things. I pretty much thought Sam was an obnoxious bogan redneck back then, so I was NOT expecting to agree with anything he said here......however, I was pleasantly surprised by this interview ( NB: I haven't seen the extended bit yet, so that remains to be seen, lol). He was talking common sense. Couldn't fault 99% of what he was saying. Very glad I put aside my biases ( something the wokejokes don't have the capacity to do, and hence why they never learn or grow as individuals. So glad I'm not one of them).
