I came to this country as a legal immigrant to work and live. I've been here for 15 years, but I am thinking to move back home. Not because I do not love this country culture or people here. Real story...at work when 911 happened. Went into lunchroom. Community lunch table comprised of Pakistani Muslim people (some born here) clapping at the collapse of the twin towers. I was appalled when I realized what was going on. The hate for the USA was palpable and openly being talked about. How and why did these people come to the Western world? You are absolutely right about the mindset of Islamists Douglas. And please, of course , it's not all Muslim people, but there are lot of the community that feel that way about Western people! My problem is this- Not only is there a lack of condemnation with a very barbaric wing of the ideology, so many accept it and are celebrating. This morning we woke to news 4 Israeli hostages have been rescued. They were found in civilian homes. Already trying to turn a rescue into victimhood. If you are part of this ideology, if you do not re exam what you believe then you are part of the problem. How can something good come from following something which has so many problems, discord and discontent? Spoke with a man from Thailand who told me there is fear. But my thought still holds, wouldn't a person re exam the doctrine and come to the realization there is something very wrong with it?

The last time she annoyed me with her idiocracy, I asked her why 15k Palestinians are worth more, than 300k Yemenis. Because she never demonstrated against Saudi Arabia killing civilians in Yemen. She was pissed that I called out her hypocrisy, and her answer, more or less was, she is white and it would be racist to demonstrate against an Arab state. Blah blah blubb, whatever. I'm done arguing with such people. I told my husband I'm not coming anymore when he visits them, I'm out. He says he doesn't want to break off old friendships easily. That's fine I told him, you do what you deem good, and I do what I deem necessary. Because I fear my own IQ will start to drop when I'm around these people too often.

I found out the hard way during covid where almost all my friends stood, and there seems to be a strong correlation between that hysteria and their current views on this war. My husband, too, did not want to let go old relationships no matter how insane and harmful their views became (Canadian here). Fortunately he turned out to be dating one of these extreme lefties on the side and after a lot of pain, I leave them to it. I would rather be alone than pretend.
