I love mine. Fits in the pocket to play on public transport, sounds 1000x bigger than it looks. The screen is as clear as my iPhone and it's easy to navigate except when entering file names. My eyes are bad too but I have zero problems with it.

I’m ordering this to replace the drumbrute impact in my dawless rig, with a goal of having a dawless “chiptune” sounding setup. The drumbrute impact was a great starter drum for a musician like myself. Even though I’m sacrificing individual outputs, I believe the pros weigh out the cons big time- for instance, I can just use wav files sampled from the drumbrute impact, or any other drum machine ever invented, and load it into this pink machine… that alone floods my brain with ideas!

Great plan! Cram it with every drum machine ever invented then mangle the heck out of them! I guess you could hard pan anything you want to process seperately... a limited solution, but it might work in some situations.

I like the sound of the nanos but can’t justify buying one due too there pricing and size. Prices are very high for what they are and sizes are tiny so it would easily get lost on a desk..also the size of the screen is too small for my poor eyes 😂 Hopefully they will make a sensible sized version one day 🎉

I agree with you on the size, especially as my eyes seem to get worse by the day. They could make the pricetag more palatable if they allowed you to swap firmware between the fireball, lemon drop and razzmatazz: it's clearly the same hardware, but I guess they're a small company, it may not be possible. Having said all that, and despite my not properly demonstrating this in the video, it really does sound great, and it really is a great tool for drum design. Guess I'll just get a large magnifying glass!

LOVE the sonics, has a real personality...but could see your frustration with the form factor already. Been hunting high and low for an FM drum synth (DAWless) with accessibility and tactility...but this one defo has given me pause. Wonder how it will play with an external controller like the Beatstep Pro! Big thanks for the demo

Yes, I've changed my mind since... I had a very short time with the Razz, and I hadn't quite got my head around it by the time I needed to film... But I've since had a bit longer with the Tangerine (the video's up now, here and on sonic state too)... You know what? I love the form factor now. Tiny, yes, but easy to use and rather intuitive too... And add a controller, and everything goes up a notch. I stand corrected!

I love how Chris is generally just slightly unimpressed.

I do kinda like it though, it's just so small, and I can do the same thing with Sitala and a simple vst without banging my elbows! If they allowed cross-pollination of firmware it would make me very happy!

@@BOOelectric for sure ~ it does sound great. Btw, how are you getting along with the Minibay? (I lost access to the email I was using for our communication)
@BOOelectric Жыл бұрын
@@dudfaz Oh hey Dud! Yes it's a great little box. I purchased all the required cables, and at the moment I'm using it for my collection of guitar pedals, with just the send from the desk going into the minibay and routing thru the pedals and out in stereo. Thank you again for getting Robin to send the unit. I intend to make a review for the Minibay as part of a piece about how our studio is set up, but as you probably know if you've been watching the BOOcast, were in full on album finishing mode. The good news is that we're gaining viewers, and once the album's out, the Minibay will have it's part in the creation of the album explained in the studio piece. Apologies for the delay! Thank you again, it's a lovely little box.

@@BOOelectric That's great! Glad it's proving useful for you. I'll be most honored to have the Minibay appear in your creation piece - thanks a bunch :) Looking forward to your Sonicstate gig too!
