Apparently they have retired now, they are a German band. I went to a dance to see tham at the Paynethorpe Country Club, near Wakefield, which no longer exists, about twenty years ago when they toured here, they were very good.

It does brings tears knowing how challenging it is to dance like that with health ailments that hold you back from doing the Boogie Woogie Queen. This video is electrifying it makes my heart jump and my body want to jump up and move, move and go,go,go, and dance, dance. However I was in a car açcident on New Year's Eve December 31st 2019 at no fault of my own an that's just not an option anymore. 😶 🤟🏻💞 2

This is great.learnt to jive in 57 .lived for sat nights at local hops.could jive with 2 girls at same time .Near got in a fight one night at local dance .3 guys took exception to me showing off so they decided to get me outside.First one took a hard punch at me ,i ducked and he hit the wall with his fist behind me.I ran with other 2 on my heels ,i jumped on a moving bus in Blackheath village and was standing on the bus platform kicking the other 2 trying to get on the bus.This was in 59. ( i was 18 )Oh to be young again in the 50s.

Nice mix, In the 50's and maybe earlier they had what was called the Harvest moon festival dance contests, I don't remember were it came from but some of the best North American boogie woogie , or swing dancers and of course the Jitter bug. all pretty much the same. danced for days to see the winner, great fun . saw it on TV. got our first TV in 1948. PS Forgot our Sock Hops every other Friday at the High School Gymnasium, if you wanted to dance. that was the place to go.
