I can't wait to hear what you think of To the Bright Edge of the World! I enjoyed The Snow Child so much that I went right into Eowyn Ivey's other book. 😅

Thank you for recommending The Snow Child - I couldn’t get enough! Perhaps it felt better because of the winter theme - but seriously I think I could have enjoyed this just as much any time❤️ Unsure what to read next - because you know how you don’t want to ruin that good read vibe?! 😊

The Wren, The Wren is a great book. However , I read The Gathering years ago and I still remember the emotional punch it gave me. So , I’d read The Gathering first? I got delivery of a book from Blackwells on Saturday. The Frozen River. It’s on my January TBR.

Frozen River is excellent! Happy reading

I agree about reading The Gathering first but The Wren The Wren is worth the 33 cents.😄

Q's Legacy is very good, but my favourite memoir by Helene Hanff is Underfoot in Show Business - see if you can find it second hand or in your library (I don't think it's in print anymore) because it's very funny and such an interesting story! I think you'd love it (I'm also interested to see what you - as a former New Yorker - would think about her Letter from New York - a collection of stories from her later life in the city, that she did for British radio, and later published in book form). That Eowyn Ivey novel sounds really interesting. I really enjoyed The Snow Child when I read it a few years ago, but didn't love it - but this story and type of narrative is just up my street. I'll have a look to see if I can find it, thanks for the tip! Happy New Year to you, Joel and Teddy, and thank you for another year of great recommendations!

Hi Greg I just reserved the Eowyn Ivey at my library. Loved The Snow Child. Good winter reads.

Thanks to Greg & Joel, I’m a Sy Montgomery fan. If you love animals, you’ll love Sy Montgomery. I’d like to see a video where Greg & Joel interview her in their home, with Teddy, too, of course.😀

I have The Wren, The Wren on my shelf and look forward to getting to it sometime in 2025. I have a goal of being a more intentional reader this year. As I reshelve my books I will hopefully get a sense of renewal of why I purchased certain books as I put them in their places. To a good reading year in 2025

Hi Greg, I enjoy your channel. I tend to read more genre fiction, but I have added some of your recommendations to my TBR, and I've read a few of them. I would like to recommend a reading project for you. It seems like in your book haul revisits you have quite a few books that have been sitting on your shelves unread for quite a while. My suggestion is that you devote February to just reading some of those books. .It would help your stats, and it could be an interesting video for early March. Please keep making great videos. Missed Teddy in this one.

I really liked The Wren, The Wren. Start here. It's a pretty cover worth the price even if you never read it!

I thought The Wren was good, never read The Gathering. Your book haul revisits are among my favorite things. So selfishly I’d like to hear a reminder what you brought in. That being said maybe just say haven’t read it and move on. Anyway that’s my two cents

The Wren, The Wren is very good. Complex family dynamics with generational trauma.

Side note: I took an art class from Rebecca Greene. How crazy awesome is that?

Your choice of book inclusions (gifted, 33cents...) is of course up to you however I thrive on learning about new (to me) pub's. Please reconsider your parameters as you have broadened my reading horizons! Cheers ❤

I appreciate that you have a specific type of book you like to see in a haul, but our family budget has been tighter than usual after we went to Ireland. The type of book haul you have been seeing is exactly what I am able to afford for the time being. I would say, though, that just because something was gifted or found for 33 cents doesn't mean it won't be new to someone. Happy new year!

❤ O G, my concern is your intention to leave out gifteds, 33cents,. I like your comments on all types of pubs. ❤
@SupposedlyFun20 күн бұрын
@@PaulaBlazer-n7l Oh no! I would only be leaving them out of book haul revisits--not the actual hauls. ❤

I include any book I plan to read on my TBR regardless of price as they represent a time investment. I work at a library so people press books into my hands. I got through Christmas with only 12 book gifts, the best present was 'The Serviceberry' by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Please read it everyone it's perfect for this moment, and Happy New Year! Oh. Maybe people will stop handing me books if I stop first? But read that one. The author reads the audio. It's short. Also illustrated.🐦 🫐
