I’m excited for you to read the Shadowhunter books!! It’s the series that got me into reading in middle school 🥰 but as far as reading order I really recommend reading them by publication order bc some of the infernal devices books might spoil some stuff in the later mortal instruments books! So basically you have to read the first three mortal instruments books then you alternate between infernal devices & the last three mortal instruments to avoid spoilers 💖

Hi Rachel, I have been an avid reader all my younger years, then when I did my 6yrs of uni as a grown woman I lost my passion for reading. I think the grooming book sounds the best out of this horde. It sounds like the perfect model of a character-driven story, where the character's fundamental belief is questioned and then changed when confronted with new information. It makes me wonder whether there will be a negative character arc, or whether the character will heal by the end. Great video!

For The Shadowhunter Chronicles , I would really recommend having finished The Infernal Devices before you read City of Heavenly Fire bc you might not appreciate the end as much if you haven’t ❤️

strongly recommend looking up how to tandem read empire of storms and tower of dawn in TOG because they happen simultaneously and EOS has a pretty big cliffhanger and then having to go back in time to the start of TOD isn’t very fun

Rachel, you inspired me to get back into reading in 2022. I set myself what I thought was quite a stretch challenge of reading one book a week, so 52 books in 2022. I’m proud to report I have read 40 books so far this year (and we’ve not quite hit the halfway mark), and I have to credit you for some great recommendations. Needless to say I have read all of TJRs books and am working my way through Colleen Hoovers back catalogue. Just about to kick off The Cruel Prince which I’m sure based on your experience I will thoroughly enjoy. Thank you so much for helping me rediscover my love for reading. I give myself a amount limit for each month and at the beginning of the month i order as many book as i can fit in that budget. That usually works for me and stops me from binge buying

I highly suggest you read the first 3 books in the mortal instruments and then clockwork angel, the 4th in the mortal instruments, clockwork prince, the 5th in the mortal instruments, clockwork princess and then the 6th in the mortal instruments

I read both The Hating Game and The Spanish Love Deception and whilst I HATED THG, I absolutely loved TSLD. I think in the latter, even though it feels like you're reading something you've read before (deja vu), I felt like I loved it more. This is mainly because I liked Lena, but could not stand Lucy. Definitely go in not thinking about THG and you'll love it!
