Love those Willowing Flame special editions. The First Law special editions sprayed edges when lined up in order (or reverse order, maybe) form the pentagram seen on the naked hardbacks.

The naked hardback of Ninth rain and the second book are stunning!!! I am absolutely in love 😍 I picked up the first book (just the normal Paperback) on your recommendation and I am really excited to read it :D Great video, love seeing special editions (especially since it is quite difficult to get them in Germany:/ )

I tend to just buy special editions for the first book rather than an entire series and then display those (because of money and space), but seeing some of the series together makes me want to go get them all for myself now...

I really wish I could get the winnowing flame series all in hardcover, been planning on buying the series once I get paid. I don’t like paperbacks(one of the reasons being my cats like paperbacks if you know what I mean)

Broken Binding is gauging interest on doing a second run of Dandelion Dynasty. Library of Viking has more details in one of his videos title 'We need to talk' (not sure if I am allowed to link in comments). It will be the same artwork, but a different color scheme. I think it is going to be very hard to match that edition, but for those who missed out on it, I recommend keeping an eye out.

Definitely not the 2nd 😂 they’re really high up, I don’t recall the exact number off the top of my head. Winnowing Flame was just because they know I’m obsessed with the series and wanted me to have the 2nd-it was really lovely, I honestly couldn’t believe it!

Is it normal that Amazon etc deliver books damaged or something? I ordered the blade itself 10th edition from amazon and it was damaged, so I sent it back and ordered it elsewhere, again, damaged but even worse this time. Got dune deluxe edition and the name of the wind 10th anniversary, both also damaged. Not as bad as the blade itself, but Dune has a bunch of dents etc in the cover and the dust jacket is completely wrecked. They put the books in a cardboard box with zero protection. I asked for a replacement for each of them, but I doubt it will be better, I will likely end up sending all of them back after all this hassle. I'm an ereader user that barely ever buys physical books. Decided to buy some nice special editions for the bookshelf, and all I got was damaged copies. Kinda makes me want to not buy any physical books anymore. Checked bookstores nearby for the copies I have, figured I could get them at the store and guarantee a good undamaged book.. except for some reason the books cost tripple the price in the book store. Compared to Amazon etc

It’s pretty normal for amazon to deliver books in less than stellar conditions. If you can-although I know it’s more expensive-I’d definitely try to get books from different retailers. Amazon once delivered a book of mine in the same box as a case of canned drinks, which have at times opened and leaked. They really put in very little effort when it comes to packaging.

@@ebnovels Damn, Thank you so much for the answer. That's such a shame, it really puts me off buying physical books. I mainly just buy them to support the author and have a cool edition on my shelf. All they need to do is roll it with some bubblewrap or something :/ who the hell puts a rather delicate item like that just loose in a cardboard box Thanks for all the content!

I'm very happy you like them, but honestly I feel massively underwhelmed by those editions (unless they were not too too expensive I guess, I'd have to see the goods/price ration on those), and by that company. Like, I don't really... Get it? The selling point is really that they're limited signed editions, right? That's why you have to bother with a subscription. But like, even on their website it's not at all clear how you even get a subscription, and most of the books they sell... Are just random editions you can pick up from any bookstore?? Or hell, even special editions published by OTHER publishers. 🤨I mean, given there are nothing but paperbacks for The Winnowing Flame, I can somewhat understand the appeal I suppose, but I'd much rather there be broader market hardbacks, more accessible special editions (with illustrations!!!) and then you can make a limited run of super fancy limited signed editions, sure. This kind of middle-ground-but-not-even bare-minimum style of limited "special" editions... I keep wracking my brain to figure out what it is that makes people rave about The Broken Binding, and even with these I still don't get it (and to be clear, The Winnowing Flame is a top-ten fantasy favourite of mine). But hey, to each their own, YMMV and all that! If you enjoy it and consider it a worthwhile investment, more power to you! 😉

The Broken Binding makes outstanding editions but unless you're one of the 1500 subscribers, you can't purchase their beautiful books. I've been on a waiting list since The First Law announcement and it's starting to get aggravating and videos like this feel like a tease (that's not directed at you, I particularly enjoy your edition reviews, it's a frustration with The Broken Binding).
