10:56 I read all the books before Unraveled released (and I had already planned not to get it) and I sold them all before it released. All I can say is that it was NOT worth it. The books drag forever and the main character is annoying as heck. Keefe, whose POV is the entirety of Unraveled, was my favorite character (as he was most fan’s favorite)… but after hearing about the LGBT stuff I decided to definitely not buy it. I’m so proud of the reviews I’ve read saying their kids decided they didn’t want to read kotlc anymore bc of all of the garbage in it and even asked their parents to return the merch they were potentially bought for Christmas. I’ve never had more hope in this generation, honestly… but the majority uniting to boycott kotlc has given me so much hope lol

I respect you so much for not finishing books you find are not for you or that have bad stuff in them. So many other people I have seen they act like it's a crime not to finish a book. Its such a shame about Keeper of the Lost Cities 🙄 i didnt like book 1 personally but it was a good option for magical middle grade 😝 I kept book one to read with my nephews when theyre older if they even cared but now its leaving 🤷🏻‍♀️

It feels great to unhaul books to make room for new ones! I unhauled a few recently, including Prince Harry’s memoir, and I plan to buy Hillbilly Elegy soon. I saw the movie years ago, but I finally want to read the book.

@ Harry’s memoir was pretty interesting, it gave a lot of insight into what palace life was like for him. And yes, the Hillbilly Elegy movie was great! I told myself I would buy the book and read it after JD became vice president. The books always go into more detail than the movies.

@Celestria No, I haven't read any of her other books. By Your Side will be a first for me. I am currently really into Cinderella books so that is what I have been reading lately. I might read By Your Side in the spring. If you haven't read The Stepsister and the Slipper it is REALLY GOOD. It is part of the Villains Ever After series. BlueBeard and the Outlaw etc.

I have read Salt to The Sea and loved it! Wolf by Wolf was a really interesting take on WW2. I have book 2 and need to read that one. I did read The Martian and there is some F bombs in it just like the movie. I liked Project Hail Mary by the same author Andy Weir. Loved that book!! I never got around to reading the Keeper books. I did see everyone rave about them though. I just never felt interested enough to read those big chunkers. So I am like you glad I didn't start them. It is such a shame.

Sadly, Sanderson went down the same route. Making a character gay with another character we know. Of which becomes a major plot point and message, along with explicit sexual content. This is something we've never seen from him. My husband and I and a lot of Christians like his books because there isn't sexual content in it. But, that is what is popular now in fantasy. Warning if anyone is planning to read Wind and Truth.

But I have heard that he is starting to put lgbtq stuff in some of his books so that’s why I was curious about it before I started the series. Glad to know that it’s ok!

I loved The Maze Runner, but DNFed the second book because it was just needlessly horrific(maybe the first one had stuff too and 2 was just where it got to me? Don’t know, it’s been too long). They’re just traumatizing these kids with the worst things for no apparent reason. Thanks for the heads up on the Keeper books. Thankfully, I only have one that I picked up second hand.
