I love that you drew Bill's parents with two eyes, showing that even in his childhood he was seen as weird by everyone else. That may be why he embraces it in the future, because he knows he's weird and the best thing he can do is just have fun with it.

Probably because at its core it's about a traumatized character escaping to a fantasy with a happy family - only the difference is, while Opal's family is abusive, Bill _killed_ his by accident.
