This channel helps me unbelievably. I recently got through Leviticus, and admittedly, it was extremely hard because in my mind all I could see was a Book full of a bunch of rules and regulations and severe punishment. The only real thing that I took away from Leviticus is that, Old Covenant=A bunch of rules and standards we could never live up to and thank God we are in the New Covenant now. But this video helped me understand the things I didn't, like the actual reason why they had to do all of those offerings and why Aaron's sons died when they entered God's presence. I thought it was just because they were disobedient and so God punishes them but it's not that simple. The Glory of God consumed them. Seeing it that way was so eye-opening. And the analogy of the scapegoat was so amazing. And now I finally understand the Ritual Impurity thing. Before, I just thought it was so ridiculous be ause I couldn't understand, but Wow, they are representations of death and that's why they couldn't enter his presence in that state. And furthermore, being physically impure wasn't seen as a sin! I see it now! Obviously I still have a lot of questions about the Old Testament, (all of the Bible really, but right now my focus is the Old Testament) but this video helps so much. Thank you!

If I understood the video correctly, you are unsure why certain animals were "unclean". You pointed out that it may be hygiene or unknown reasons. May I suggest that your "death" vs "life" illustration in the middle of the poster already gives you the answer. Notice, all the unclean animals are predators or scavengers, carnivores or omnivores. For example, pigs are scavengers. The clean animals are herbivores, plant eaters. So, just like touching a dead body made a person unclean, an animal eating another animal would make that animal unclean. Carnivores and omnivores were unclean because they ate blood (life).
@TheNikolinho8 жыл бұрын
great observation, brother. i am just confused about this - i don't think rabbits, who were forbidden to be eaten, are omnivores. they are herbivores, right? so what's up with that?
@vickifox8 жыл бұрын
Oooh! Good question. I think I found the answer why certain herbivores are on the unclean list. It is fat, specifically the fat the surrounds the main body organs. In the case of rabbits (hares), and badgers, and camels - it is the lack of this fat. In Gen 4:4, we find Abel's acceptable offering included "their fat portions". This shows from the beginning, there a role of fat in the sacrifice. In Lev 3:3-4, we find a description of the fat that is to be sacrificed, "the fat covering the entrails ... on the entrails ... on the kidneys ... at the loins ... and on the liver." In Lev 3:16, we find that God claims this fat as His ... "All fat [see above] is the Lord's". We then find other places in Lev, such as 7:23, that prohibit Israelites from eating this fat. They could eat the clean animal's flesh, but not the prescribed fat [see above]. A verse that ties all this together is Eze 44:7, where God is announcing some of Israel's crimes, is where God declares "when you offer to me My food, the fat and the blood". We see that both fat and blood are part of the sacrifice. Fat and blood are essential for life - fat stores life energy and blood transports life energy. Therefore, it appears certain animals are unclean because they lack the sacrificial fat - the fat that is supposed to be removed as part of the clean butchery of the animal and burned. In a similar manner, the Mosaic Law prescribes how the blood is removed as part of clean butchery. For example, Wikipedia describes how rabbits have a very low fat content. The article mentioned that people who eat rabbit on a regular basis can develop "Rabbit Starvation", meaning while they get enough protein, they don't get enough fat in the diet for proper health.

These reviews are extremely helpful. I can read the scriptures all day & feel like I'm repeatedly lost trying to understand one concept as I'm trying to move onto the next one. Then top that off with; everytime one rereads any section of scriptures; you see it with new eyes. Thus one is constantly mullung over & over again to find what you missed before. And crazy too is that if you just read without much thought; it just seems to be a story like any other. Amazing how God is able to weave so many vastly different things together.

ISAIAH 3 - LEVITICUS “And so it shall be: instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of a well-set hair, baldness; instead of a rich robe, a grinding of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.” (Isaiah 3:24) Words By: Father "Worship. There are different forms of it performed to Me daily. But the beauty of it, and the worship I value, is beheld from the heart. The song is right; I search much deeper within, through the way things appear, I’m looking into your heart. I never look at what your body and actions do. But I watch, I evaluate how you come into My presence, what burdens you carry, what your thought life is like and where your desires are set upon. I then give back to you the measure your heart is true. I see many different hearts performing different types of worship daily but the person I am focusing on is you. What are you offering Me? A sweet smelling aroma or a stench? Instead of wearing the belt buckle of truth are you bound by the rope of bondage? Instead of wearing a crown of glory, are you coming bald with nothing to offer? Instead of wearing the robe of righteousness are you wearing sackcloth? Instead of beauty are you branded with the cares of the day? All these things have an effect in your worship for the better or worse. Coming into My presence should be no different than a priest entering the tabernacle. A cleansing is involved to purify all your impurities so that you may be ready to present your gift. All it takes is a step of faith by applying a blood covering and a heart ready to receive. Coming into My presence with burdens and unsettled issues within yourself or towards your brother, you are condemning yourself, for light cannot dwell with darkness. Therefore, when you come to Me, seek if there are any spots in your heart, cleanse them with the blood so that you may present to Me a true heart of worship."

In spite of Thomas Aquinas' intentions, the term "social justice" has, in our time, taken on a statist definition, consistent with Marxism and socialism. In the same way, the term "justice" has come to be associated with vengeance and/or punishment. While the Bible clearly teaches the concept of social justice, in its true sense, and does not limit the meaning of "justice," as we tend to do today, wouldn't it still be better to use the term the Bible uses? (By the way, I'm loving these videos! Keep up the good work!)

for give me but the part he says about the animal he cleaned it. ◄ Acts 10:15 ► The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean
@ihavesnacks41867 жыл бұрын
Wanda Galloza Read it verse 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.” Why is he refusing? He was there when the Messiah supposedly said food did not defile us (which I disprove in a moment), so he should have had no problem in eating it. Read it until verse 28. This was symbolic on calling people unclean. It was not about food. Peter references this when dealing with Cornelius. And guess what? It still did not say that Peter did eat the food. Matthew 15 11. People like to say this verse is saying that whatever food you eat, it does not defile you. But this verse is not even talking about food. Turn to verse 1 and we will read to verse 20. Notice how the Pharisees are asking the Messiah why the disciples are transgressing the tradition of the ELDERS by not washing their hands before they eat. This was not a law in the Torah. How does he answer? He asks them why they transgress the commandment of Yah by enforcing their own tradition and not enforcing a scriptural law such as honoring your mother and father? That's part of the Torah. The first ten commandments (there are actually over 600, those first ten are not the only ones, read it in the first five books). So what does make a man unclean? Verses 16 to 19 tells us. Evil thoughts of murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Sin makes you unclean. But what does verse 20 say? Eating with dirty hands does NOT defile a man. This is not about food at all. This is saying that having some dirt on your hands and you eat something does not make you unclean like an unclean animal in scripture. You might get sick, but don't think your name is not written in the Book of Life just because you had a bit of dirt under your fingernail. But knowingly indulging in foods that are not good for you? That is another story, but we will go into that momentarily. He wasn't against the Pharisees for preaching the law of eating clean meats. He was against them because they DID NOT preach the law, and they were being hypocrites who enforced their own traditions but always liked to point their finger at others. These were the same guys that Isaiah was talking about in Isaiah 29 13, talking about their love for the Most High with their mouths but their heart is not with him. They are hypocrites. That is why the Messiah came. He came to preach the truth of the Torah to his lost people as they were being led astray by these prophets.
