In really warm climates mode pudge sticks to things it shouldn’t. I found in Bible journaling mode podge sticks to pages, not meant to be stuck to, as well as travelers notebooks, and junk journals pages. Elmers glue sticks are great for napkins. I love the glitter glue, a little pricey, but worth it.

Thanks heaps Bonny. Now I've got to make sure I actually use them in journals instead of hoarding them - hehe. I've got to make so many before I feel like I can start using them. But then once I start using them, they go so quickly.

I think the stickiness is because people do not let items dry out properly, between layers they apply... plus ... perhaps they also apply too much!.... A tip I would like to share with you about the 'stickiness' though... if it is not tooo bad... try dusting with baby powder over the entire item.... and rub it all over gently with hands.... and then gently wipe a super soft cloth over your item....it should be less sticky after this.... plus it will smell good! Thank you for showing your beautiful makes.... (I use modge podge myself... but I do water it down a little... find it works effectively enough... but is easier to apply... dries quicker.... and leaves less crinkles... and lumps!
@JuniDesiree
@JuniDesiree 5 жыл бұрын
Ooh thanks so much for the tips. I definitely love the glue stick best for a smooth, non-sticky finish. Plus it's the quickest and easiest method I've found. I used mod podge just recently though and might have to try watering it down next time.

If it is sticky I heard people use wax candle over the sticky part, it stops the stickyness. Rubber cement is nice, but it stops to stick after a few years. I don't want all my journals to fall apart after a few years, I have found out about that with scrapbooks. I feel so sorry to see all the hard work come loose.
@JuniDesiree
@JuniDesiree 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks heaps for the tips. I wasn't a fan of rubber cement at all. It was smooth but not fun to apply. Ideally, I'm looking for something that doesn't need anything to remove the stickiness afterwards. I'll have to experiment with many more glues over the years - hehe.
