My maternal grandparents came from Sicily and knew how to read and write, they were literate. They were intelligent individuals and lived by the Ten Commandments. They settled in Louisiana and later in Chicago, IL. My father was born in Bari and was a literate and intelligent man who also lived by the Ten Commandments.
