Book review: Dark Rise By C.S. Pacat ….OMG 😱

God this book destroyed me, I love Will and his relationships with the other characters and I'm a big fan of the way the author writes. One thing that turned me off from it at the beginning was the cliched terms and how it slowed down a lot after the first few chapters, but it quickly picked up and I just couldn't put it down. Not to mention the number of twists that I never saw coming even though there were plenty of hints about them since the beginning, I had a feeling from the moment I finished the prologue that this would be one of my favorite books and I was right.

I'm so late in seeing this but I absolutely agree. I haven't heard anything on the sequel and I'm wondering if thats because of what you highlighted that people were turnoff by what they thought would be typical YA fantasy fare and didn't stick it out. I hope it does get its world expanded because I'm still thinking about it

@@gssilver yeah, although im pretty confident in it getting a sequel sometime soon considering its popularity and the amount of awards it's won

My friend tried to describe the book to me before I read it and she basically said "It is a gay fantasy story" That is literally all she said.
