One reason I'm interested in Hoodoo is because there is no initiation. The power comes from or through the practitioner. Initiation has nothing to do with that. I also like that the Bible is used. I'm white and I realize it may not work for me, but I respect where it came from. I'm also interested in Appalachian folk magic because that's where my ancestors are from and I do have a direct family connection with people who used folk healing and the Bible. No initiation needed with that either. Bless you and thank you for the review!

I am not saying that white people are not allowed to practice hoodoo are they shouldn't but I just want to know it says it African-American spiritualism why do they (white people) feel the need to say "hoodoo is not just for African Americans"when the practice is literally called African-American spiritualism? if the power of hoodoo comes from the ancestors what ancestors are white people praying to ?this is a serious question that I have been wanting to know for years!!!. Are they praying to the same ancestors that oppressed the ancestors that started hoodoo ? That can't be right . I need a answer !!!!!!

Just found this. I'm going to get this book. As to the mezuzahs, you probably have been around them but just never noticed them. If you go to an apartment building especially in a big city some doors will have a small rectangle 'box' or 'plate', usually no bigger than a school pencil about 3 inches long. Usually with Hebrew written on it. Most of the time they are made of brass or some sort of metal. Inside is the Torah. I thought it was the whole Torah but after this video I see its only part. I can't wait to read this book and discover more of your channel. Take care Amber

An awesome little book that is funny, well written, and very inspirational is "What To Do When The Wheels Come Off" It's a devotional easy read that contains modern proverbs that are very thought provoking. SisTar! I have had the same issue with using “Jesus” in my practices with Hoodoo. So, instead of Jesus, I substitute with Heru or the consciousness of “Christ.” What are your thoughts on this? Much love, peace and prosperity to you!! Ase’ 💜

Thanks so much for this review. I got here from a Google search about the authors. I too was on the fence about some stuff I was reading in ppl's amazon reviews about working with "jesus" and whatnot, but I will just chew the meat and spit out the bones. IMO I didn't like it....I have my reason if you do excessive research on Lucky mojo and their books you won't like it either. I felt like the font was too big I felt like it was rushed students that have graduated from Catherine's class write those books....some of not having more than 3 years experience ijs but to each it's own. A lot of the work in luck mojo books call for you to purchase their spiritual supplies from them an I do mean a lot an that just doesn't sit well well with me.
