If it helps to build a visual image of the setting: The book is based on Bradbury's own childhood. So it would be set in the 1930's, not the 60's when it was published.

I'm about halfway through listening to this book on audible and OH MY GOSH this book is so incredible already. The lyrical writing style is PERFECT for an audiobook! The narrator does such an amazing job at giving you that story at a campfire vibe that you mentioned! I totally agree with you on that. I am so excited to see where this story goes!

very infectious enthusiasm. I thought you were gonna talk a bit more about the fear of aging and the urge to grow up faster. Still, very good review.

This book is one of favorite books. Still in my top one hundred, I'm in my sixties and have read many, many books in my life. My other favourite by him is Dandelion Wine.

Great review, Erika! I looooved this book and I thought that the writing style was great because he managed to write such beautiful sentences, but in a simple way. I don’t know how else to explain it. I’m glad you enjoyed it too! I still need to read his other work.

It’s definitely hard to explain the writing style and how enjoyable it is, but I think it’s such a great read 😊

I’m sure you got an A anyway. Anyone who can’t understand this book shouldn’t get a high school diploma. Just saying.

Never read this one. One of my favourite books is 451, in fact he's one of my favourite writers. Thanks for the great review. Big happiness will fall onto you and your family/freinds. Am going to get the book from my nice local independent book shop.

Extra comment. The villian sounds a bit like the old celtic god Crum Cruhach - lord of the twisted back. He promised to make you ever young and it ever summer....but the price was the sacrifice of all your children.
