Mental health in the Asian, Black, and Spanish communities wasn’t talked about like it is now. It’s still kind of a taboo subject. Observing and experiencing it is frustrating.

I just finished this book. It was highly reviewed, and there was gonna be a big twist, so I dove in. I am so relieved to see that I am not the only one who feels the "colors" went too far. I also thought it tied up too neatly, the dad doing a complete 180? All her peers being able to go on that trip? By the time the twist came, it was predictable. I just wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. Thanks for sharing. Good, honest review.

Not to switch the narrative but my cousin has told me once that anxiety isn’t real. Sometimes POC just don’t want to believe or understand that mental health issues are real. Just because it doesn’t effect you personally doesn’t mean it isn’t real. I never felt the need to read this book but this video has me intrigued.

i just finished this books and I really enjoyed it! I gave it 5 stars! I loved your review! the ending reminded me SO MUCH of Safe Haven! I don't know if you've seen it, but it made me think of that movie/book right away!

I just finished the book and I think you pretty much summarized everything that I felt about it! I was really pleasantly surprised and idk if it’s because I haven’t read as many books as you but I loved the synesthesia part, it just added a little more magic to the book I guess. Anyway, thanks for reviewing the book, I always love to see what other people think as well.

Omg you finally read it!!! I commented from your previous videos months ago recommending this book! I totally agree everything you said from the first half of your video! There’s honestly so much to take in from that book. Even tho there’s part I found “spooky” as well or it was written in way that made you have to think thoroughly, I still rlly loved the book and enjoyed it!

I am so glad you read this! I have definitely been one of the people commenting for you to read this because I unexpectedly fell in love with it. For me personally, it was the perfect book. I agree with the flaws you mentioned, but they for whatever reason did not bother me because I just clicked with this book so well. Glad you enjoyed it!
