I read this very soon after reading Earthsea when I was in sixth form! I ended up writing an essay on it! As a text it is more of a 4.5⭐️ but after doing my contextual research it became 5⭐️ for me! Such an important book and I really love it! As always the vibes are impeccable, and I wish you a very cosy week!!

Oooh I've been meaning to read some Ursula Le Guin - I'm not sure if this'll be the first one I'll pick up by her but sounds really interesting all the same!

It’s quite intense for the first time! But I definitely recommend trying some of her other work ☺️ I hope you love it when you do!

I’m so glad that you loved it! That’s one of the best feelings though, is being wrong about a book and actually loving it! It makes it even more special then as it surprised you ☺️

@@harrietsbookcorner This books is actually the reason I discovered your channel lol When I finished it in August I was looking for reviews on YT to see what other ppl thought about it. I ended up stumbling onto the reviews that you'd done of her other books despite you not having a review of this one specifically at the time XD - I guess the YT algorithm has achieve sentience and is smart enough to even predict the future now cause it knew that my search would be relevant to your channel a few months down the road lmao

@@v3rmilli0nair3 that’s really cool! A little creepy on the algorithm side of it all, but cool nonetheless 😅 I’ll always be reading more of Le Guin’s works so expect plenty more reviews in the future!

Sometimes a slow start makes the fast-paced sections stand out even more! The science heavy warning might've scared me off of reading this book, but your comments about Le Guin's incorporation of feminist ideals makes me curious!

Absolutely! I’m going to bring Lavinia for you next time we meet so that you can try that, as it’s a historical fiction but still has a lot of conversations regarding feminism and power - I think you’ll really enjoy it (at least, I hope so 😅)
