Maybe you need to re-watch the interview. Of course, there is the same problem with many other groups and cultures. Jews have bent over backwards erasing themselves, stepping aside to make room for other cultures - without validating their own value independent of all others. The African American experience is valid all on its own without comparison or recognition or concern for how it affects any other group...but American Jews validate their experience in a way that makes others more tolerant of us, and that diminishes our experience.
