@@maazkalim in the UK a panel show is a show with usually two teams playing for laughs but maybe with a quiz element to it. So there is usually points scored but that’s not the whole point of the show which is just pure entertainment. Mostly populated by comedians who use one liners or quick fire gags to get a laugh. The best of these in my opinion is Would I Lie To You or Have I Got News For You. We also have panel shows on Radio, most frequently Radio Four such as Just A Minute, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue. Hope this helps😀

Actually his own views should be reflected in the title. His own view is to establish a hierarchy of racism, and he imagines Jewish people to be at the bottom. he's a racist dick. Numberwang and Whoopi Goldberg. I invite intellectually dishonest white comedians Mitchell and Webb to examine the latest Numberwang Anti-semitism claims. Goldberg said that the holocaust revealed not the horrors of racism but of man's inhumanity to man. She was told off and it was alleged by the Numberwangers that this was anti-semitic - so she said that she was wrong and that the holocaust reveals BOTH of those things - this was not acceptable to the Numberwangers who wanted to deny that the holocaust teaches us that anyone, jews, muslims, black people, brown people, white people, can be inhuman to others, and that these terrible things have to be challenged by facing up to man's inhumanity to man. The numberwangers do not wish to admit, ultimately, that Hitler's extermination of jews was part of something which goes beyond that which requires just demonising white Germans and putting jews on pedestals - Primo Levi himself mentioned that Palestinians were to jews what jews were to Hitler, to quite an extent, and that was back in Levi's day, imagine what he'd say now. Golderg annoyed them by continuing to maintain that AS WELL as showing us the horrors of racism the holocaust showed us the horrors of "man's inhumanity to man" - and warned us against, ultimately, such awful things as Guantanamo bay, Israel's treatment of many Palestinians, the actions of Boko Haram, of Osama bin Laden, of Tommy Robinson (a great fan of Israel), of Rupert Murdoch, etc etc. Because Goldberg stuck to her guns, WHILST ADMITTING THAT THE HOLOCAUST ALSO SHOWS US THE HORRORS OF 'RACISM' (and bear in mind race isn't even a real thing, whereas man's inhumanity to man is), and continued to maintain the view that the Holocaust of jews by Hitler shows us a glimpse of other crimes, the way millions of Africans were treated by Europeans and others during the massive era of the slave trade, the way Babylonians treated slaves, the way Romans treated slaves, the crimes of Genghis Khan, the crimes of Modi's India, the British in India, the British in Africa, the Europeans in 'the Americas' - all of this stuff is awful and criminal and the Numberwangers obviously don't want to think about that or face it, they tend to be imperialist racist tossers. Ironic really, that such tossers go around pretending they are entitled to call anyone they pick 'anti-semitic' - in much the same way Robert Webb's character says "that's numberwang" in the famous sketch. Ironic that Webb himself has been "groomed" to hate Corbyn and call Corbyn and anti-semite in the same way Webb's character calls things 'numberwang'. So, let's see: to say that the American slave trade was not about race but about man's inhumanity to man, would be true: the people who were slaves were from assorted 'skin colouring groupings'. To say that the attack on Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and others was not about Islamophobia but man's inhumanity to man would be true, the victims were from all religions, even if mainly muslim, and the perpetrators including many muslim states like Saudi, ultimately islamophobia was the glue which held the imperial incursions together, but what happened there was a far deeper sin than something with as few dimensions as islamophobia or hatred of muslims. Rape, is not the suffering of women. Many victims of rape are men, and on top of that the cause of rape is to do with the morality of society in its totality, not just of the male contingent. As you can see, in all these examples I myself would consistently side with Goldberg's statement. What she said sounds like something Picard would say, indeed. People would not try to perceive 'jew hatred' in it if he had said it, naturally. It is their hatred of black women they are showing, most offensively, when criticising Goldberg for what she said. Her sensitive 'apology' was a very dignified and decent response. Perhaps they should try to learn at least THAT from her, these numpties making offensive statements about what she said which is the same message holocaust survivor Primo Levi expressed in his writing, indeed. In green for now, David Baddiel adds his foolish bullshit to the Whoopi Goldberg hysteria: > > He clearly is too primitive to comprehend what she's talking about. It's sad to see such an ignorant brainless white jew imagining he's not a moron just because he's a celebrity and he's white and jewish. Actual intelligent white and jewish people may well find Baddiel's comments far too offensive at this late stage of the present day disaster facing the world, vis a vis racism, imperialism, genocide, etc. How is what he's saying in any way an appropriate response to the statement that the holocaust of Jews by hitler was an issue of man's inhumanity to man not simply some skin colour contest? How is she belittling the plight of those jews? That he pretends she is is part of Baddiel's basic racism/xenophobia. He's trying to suggest that in reality what matters is not that in order to gain and dominate one group of humans abused another, he's saying what matters is that that particular group on that occasion was mostly jewish and that we should always remember to never kill jews. I think her point, that we shouldn't abuse others, whether we are 'black' or 'white', 'jewish' or 'christian' or 'atheist' or 'hindu' or 'muslim'(as far as I know agnostics never abuse anyone, in case it's definitely immoral) (sorry Baddiel, I know you're the comedian, but nothing you say is funny so I have to make up for it a bit here) (do accept my apology), is a valid point and Baddiel is just attacking her because he seems to think he's superior to black people or something - there's no other way to explain his psychosis other than latent xenophobia. Not so 'latent' to 'the others' he sees as 'others'.

In my experience, we Ashkenazi Jews, at least in the U.S., don't call non-Jews "the white man." I suspect the movie character might have been a little sarcastic there. We might call them goyim or gentiles but that's uncommon and not a pejorative. However, recent events have shown that antisemites often see us as not white, or at least not white enough to be exempt from racism. It's been an eye-opener for me, too. I enjoyed that movie, and all the Mordechai Richler books I have read, including that one.

David has apologised repeatedly for blackface in the 90's and making fun of Jason Lee ( a black British footballer). British comedy Post war was largely based on misogyny and racism. Davidson, Manning, Carry On films, Chubby Brown etc... It took the alternative comedy scene to begin to break that down but racist tropes still exist in UK comedy today. Baddiel was young and part of a culture that thought racist jokes were edgy and fun. The audience (mostly blokes found it hilarious) were part of the Lad culture in the 90's. David is now wiser and older and recognises those bits were wrong. He has repeatedly apologised for his mistakes. His past mistakes do not invalidate his own experiences at being abused for being Jewish.

I agree. I remember the general attitude about racist jokes and even black face back then, and it was definitely not done in the old disgustingly mean Jim Crow black face that crudely made fun of African features. Even a lotta black folk back then seemed to think it was alright, though I’m sure there was discomfort. And I know plenty thought it was racist BS from the beginning, and that’s fine. But the intent behind it wasn’t mean or insulting, but people hear the term “black face” today and immediately assume the worst. Racial tensions have been made worse by ignorant young white people who think it’s their place to defend other races.
@StobzillaYT
@StobzillaYT 2 жыл бұрын
@@nebulousisgod - The intent behind it absolutely was mean and insulting. To the point where Jason himself and his manager Frank Clark wrote and asked for them to stop, which they refused. Did David Baddiel do something racist? Yes. Is David Baddiel a racist? No. Both of those sentences can be true and you give up the privilege of moralising about these issues if you answer "yes" to 1 or more of the above questions, particularly when it is a personal attack for a laugh about football, rather than say, using blackface to make a wider sociological point.

The joke was about Lee's mountainous haircut and not his colour. The biggest problem was that Lee was Jamaican and his hair was dreadlocks because of his heritage and religion. If he'd just worn a big wig it wouldn't have been so bad and we as football fans would've known who he was talking about but he didn't he blacked up to drive it home. Ther attitude towards blackface then was not the same and the backlash from this piss taking definitely speeded up the process to recognise how bad blackface and the inappropriate misappropriation of others cultures are in the UK. We have all done or said things in our teens and twenty's which we are ashamed of in our fifty's. I know I am.

I'm so sorry. I'm a Christian but I would never disrespect Judaism or the Jewish people that way. I'm sorry you have to endure ignorance, bigotry, and just plain idiocy from others that share the most basic religious views that I hold. I honestly can't understand it, but I'm autistic and don't understand hating groups. If nothing else, if this in anyway can help know we aren't all awful, I want you to know how much I respect both the faith and the people. I actually grew up envying how the Jewish children grew up. I always wanted to learn the Bible in the original languages and it's ignorant to think reading it in English conveys the correct meaning. And I was incredibly lucky to have a youth leader who didn't teach us bigotry like some do but that we should respect the Jewish people because you will never stop being God's chosen. I really hope this whole comment wasn't out of place. It's only purpose is to convey humility and sympathy toward your mistreatment and support of your people. If I remember correctly the upcoming holiday is the new year (of or for?) the tree? And I only know traditional holiday greetings and the name so I hope you'll accept, chag sameach on Tu B'shevat.
