Fantastic trick. GREG. I learned a similar book trick, but i haven't done it in so long. I forget it. But i could find it someday, lol. I'm trying to think of where to put the cheat card because i wouldn't remember what those words are. 🤔 . I like this trick. I was thinking of using 1 spectator, and when they roll the dice, have them roll ONLY 1 die. Or do you call 1 die a douse? Coz 1 mice is a mouse, 😂😂. Anyway, have them roll 1 die. Now, you probably know this move, and most magicians might know it, but most laymen do not. When the die is rolled, let's say it's a 4. Have the spectator turn the die on the opposite side and to add the 3 to the 4, which adds up to 7, because each number on the opposite side of a number on the dice adds up to 7. That was easy to say, 😅. This way, I only need to remember the 7th word on both pages, 14 /15. Hope that helps your readers, if they are like me, lol. Thanks, Greg. Have an awesome weekend.

Ha Ha!! Yes I like the word "douse"...makes perfects sense to me. It's funny I thought of using the "7 dice" principle - but using it to force the 14. (That's the one where you stack the 2 rolled dice and then add up the top, bottom and touching faces.) But I really like this card stack secret. I think you could hide the crib on the card box. Putting the cards away would be a good excuse for picking it up.

@trapdoormagic - Hi Greg, I just finished stacking the deck. I love that method to get to either page 14 or page 15. Yes, that 2 dice method is a good idea for the word. I realized after i wrote my comment that i could put my cheat card in the cellophane. I'm going to do this trick among a few others tomorrow for a few buddies. They are dumb. They won't know the 7 rule on 1 douse. Lol. I'm going to keep it to only 1 die for now, so i can just use the 7th word on either page. It's easier for me that way, at least for the first time doing the trick.. We can have the spectator choose 1, 2, or 3 🎲 🎲 🎲 dices, lol. Then, use the 7 rule, and the numbers would be 7, 14, or 21. Lol. That might really surprise the spectator because they had a choice of how many dices they wanted to use. Thanks, Greg. Hey, are you going to teach that force/ trick sometime soon? I thought this was it when i got the notification.

Hello. This is the first time that I visit your channel. I like what you do. I bought Annemann's Practical Mental Effects in 1967 (I was 17 then) from a magician friend. I was immediately fascinated by Annemann's creativity and intelligence. He was in a class apart. Too bad that his life ended the way it did. Thank you for posting.

I would put the crib on the back of the card box, then peek at it by putting the cards away. If you find the right book with sensible words, it may be easy enough to memorize because you would simply remembering 2 sentences (roughly).

@@trapdoormagic Thank you. I think that this is a great solution.I have used the same stratagem in a ''any card at any number'' trick invented by Ken Krenzel where two decks are used. I have fooled not only laymen but also competent magicians with that.

This is great. Lots of free periodicals have the requisite number of pages (at least 26, the largest number that could be picked if the choice were fair). Pick up two copies and cut the crib sheet from one of them.
@trapdoormagic3 ай бұрын
Yes. In fact, it might be pretty easy to memorize the contents of two pages of a magazine, so no crib would be needed.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this trick. Please could you tell me where in deck you leave out the two aces? Thank you, I’m determined to learn this!
@trapdoormagic3 ай бұрын
Just remove them first. Then start stacking the deck in ascending/descending order. (A-K-2-Q-3-J-4-10-5-9-6-8-7-7-8-6-9-5-10-4-J-3-Q-2-K). Then repeat that. Suits don't matter
@gary.h.turner3 ай бұрын
Just as the two pairs of 7s appear next to each other, the two pairs of Aces would normally appear next to each other - but two Aces only add up to 2, so you need to omit one of them at each position where a pair would naturally occur. Then, each remaining Ace will have a King on either side.
@trapdoormagic3 ай бұрын
@@gary.h.turner You leave out 2 Aces so that doesn't happen. I mention that toward the end of the video (13:05). The deck only has 50 cards so that the cycle is not broken.
@redblack84143 ай бұрын
The two aces are not in the deck. You remove them before the performance. They are in your pocket or left in the card box.

Reminds me of a version I did using a Si Stebbins stack, but then you have to remember four pages. A nice intro is having the audience 'choose' one of three books, using magicians force

Ted Annemann was a genius. I have read a lot of his stuff and performed many effects that he created. The Magic Factory has come out with a new book that includes most of Annemann's creations except his Bullet Catching Act (because it's too dangerous). The title is Annemann Enigma. Don't miss it if you are into mentalism or magic. It's expensive (as it should be to prevent the curious from gaining the information) but worth every cent.
@trapdoormagic3 ай бұрын
I agree it is worth every penny (900 + pages! Plus every Jinx). He was the best. And you are right...anyone into mentalism should study Annemann. Thanks for sharing.

Where do you keep the cheat sheet during the performance? Also, just a thought you could store an image of the cheat sheet on your phone and seperate images of the 12 words on page 14, and 12 words on page 15. Then you could say that you are going to use AI to reveal the word. Quickly scan the cheat sheet- get the word, and then scroll to the single word for the reveal.
@trapdoormagic3 ай бұрын
You can keep it attached to the card box, then put the deck away as an excuse to look at it. The phone is a good idea. I have developed a few web apps for revealing cards and symbols and they look pretty amazing. But having a photo would work too. Good thinking :)
