Great list! I loved Jar of Hearts and had planned to read Things We Do In The Dark but after hearing some reviews changed my mind. I recently finished Carrie Soto and ended up loving it as well.

Daisy Darker was so good. The audiobook is next level! Same with In My Dreams I Hold A Knife. Wish I could've accessed the Carrie Soto audiobook

Spells For Forgetting was also one of my favorite reads this year too! I also loved the Hop by Diana Clarke which is similar to TJR's Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo as it has an interview format with many people that focuses on one famous main character but it's a different subject matter and longer interview sections. My favorites: 1. Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan (hard hitting romance read) 2. All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir (contemporary) 3. The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D Jackson (Carrie retelling but focus on racism&social justice issues) 4. Amari and the Great Game by B.B. Alston (middle grade fantasy I think all readers can enjoy) 5. As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh (YA historical fiction in Syria, more adult themes) 6. Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz (really cool story within a murder mystery story)

Malibu Rising also disappointed me as well. I think I gave it 3 or 3.5 stars. But I actually like Carrie Soto on it. I felt like she was an interesting mix to the chaotic family.
