10 Things About You will forever be one of the best movies ever made. The love I had for Heath Ledger knew no bounds back then. 🤣 I totally agree that rom coms just aren't the same anymore. Rom coms and coming of age movies I think were much better in the 80s-2000s.

I was watching this video and as you were going along counting down the movies; I kept thinking I'm surprised "10 things I hate about you," hasn't been mentioned and Wow turned out to be #1, truly underrated actor in this movie, David Krumholtz co-stared in the Santa Clause and was great in the crime show "Numb3rs." Lot of really great actors in this one, but I loved Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles reinventing "Taming of the Shrew," romance. Loved the dad played by Larry Miller, one of my favorite characters in the movie ♥ Just worth mentioning; " Penelope and While You Were Sleeping," are great too and I think you might have mentioned before, not such a fan of Jane Austen; but there was a re-imaging of her Pride and Prejudice some years back titled "Lost in Austen," if I might be so bold as to recommend to you; its more like a miniseries but truly brilliant and worth watching :)

This is a great list. I truly need to revisit "You Got Mail". "Pretty Woman " is a great one too. Might I suggest watching "The Wood"(1999), it takes place in the inner city so it doesn't make a lot of lists, but for Black people this is a classic teen romcom to us 🤗

My top 10 favorite romance movies in no particular order with caveats that not all are strictly comedy... 1. Bridget Jones, this is my comfort food. 2. You've Got mail, my first taste of enemies to lovers and I still love it 3. Just Wright with Queen Latifah and Common, I love this sports romance where the Plus-Sized girl wins the guy. 4. He's Just Not That Into You, just illustrates all the awkward dating hangups 5. Brown Sugar with Sanaa Lathan a friends to lovers music romance 6. Me Before You, more of a drama, but heartbreakingly sweet. 7. Boomerang with Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry, just an all around funny movie about a player learning the hard way 8. Twilight, okay so a paranormal romance, but I can't help binge watching it. 9. Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts 10. The Truth About Cats and Dogs and edgy story about catfishing, before catch fishing was a thing. Honorable mentions go to the tv shows Sex in the City, Ugly Betty, How I Met Your Mother, Dawson's Creek and Friends which were all essential super long romance sagas.

If you haven't tried it, you might want to watch Letters to Juliet from 2010, which has both a younger and an older romance. And, the older one is between two people actually married to each other in real life: Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero. (Boy, have they got a story, from Camelot to this.) But, in any event, when you said some of the ones you would mention are old, I thought you were going to bring up the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, which are chock full of some of the best romantic comedies ever made.
