In High School, in the 80s, I too liked to bind my own books - didn't know it had a name, let alone a profession, thought it was a dead trade. I am a sucker for writing note books, but often times when the cover is beautiful the pages are not so fun to write or even draw on, and vice versa, the pages are great to pens the cover is dull. For years, I collected beautiful wrapping and rice paper too. I just did not know for what.

Just FYI - there are places that will sharpen a variety of scissor types, a local quilt shop usual can give a recommendation and some will even take the service request and someone picks them up as needed/once a week type thing.

I was born in England, and my parents moved to Australia when I was 8. I am now 64, and I still hate summer here. Christmas without snow was never Christmas until I had my own children. So don't think you are a wimp for needing an air conditioner; I can't live without one either

It will get hot here in LA I'm in the inland area an hour a way from LA and it gets to 115 degree weather. Anyhow, you inspire me to make my first book. However I'm timed to add the cover lol so its just the block, .. I think that's what its called lol 😊🥰😁😂

I just came across you’re videos and I love your work. I would not normally ask someone how they get there stuff. But the boards your use for making your books. I’m looking for something think like that. And everything I buy even though the pictures show it’s thick it’s really not. So any advice on how to get the thick boards would be amazing.
