Great job! Hell of a flight fight! Cracked 2017-04 10 days ago. This is my 1st Booker’s, wasn’t sure how well it ranked having no previous Booker’s experience. I think it’s great, glad u do too! Yay, Huzzah, and Oh Boy the time is finally here!!! My current Booker's collection is 2015-05 2016-06 2017-02 and they all are wonderful in their own unique yet similar way if that makes any sense. Yes Booker's is so concentrated and rich it has a lot of room to open up and can have several personalities if you take many months to go through the bottle. Thanks for doing this. When I see people on the internet say "Booker's is the same as Knob Creek single barrel" all I can think is they have never had Booker's. Don't get me wrong I love KCsb especially the store picks but it is nothing like Booker's. Bring on the Barrel Proof Fight. PS you two deserve extra credit for doing this standing up!!!

You know, as long as I've been tasting bourbons, I have never had Booker's. This review has convinced me to give it a try. A whole bottle of barrel proof takes a while for me to get through, but all of your tasting notes has really intrigued me. Every one seems different!

My Friday was such a DOG until I saw this. No Booker's but did manage to sip on some Blantons SB (2015), Jefferson's Ocean (Voy #11) ,and McKenna 10SB (2007). I always rank them different and tonight it was Jefferson's that took the prize. Great show!

Great video guys. Long time scotch drinker who just recently got into bourbon, but am loving the barrel proof stuff. Bookers Kathleen’s batch delicious, but it’s the only one that I’ve tried thus far. Can’t wait until the backyard bbq batch hits Texas. I know it’s been said but what y’all are in Austin try to visit Garrison brothers they are doing some interesting things, and I would love to hear your thoughts on their bourbon. I had my first chance to have Bookers on Halloween at a friends house. I believe it was the Kentucky chew and it was Amazing and boy was it strong. I had did a quick warm up with some Willett which was also very good, but man was that Bookers fantastic. I have to say it hit me pretty fast, I would have to go easy on the Bookers once I get a bottle.

Any Bookers batch is good. Best thing is you can find it at the local liquor store most of the time. Goes for around 75 in MD. It's nice to see it showing up at more bars and there's a different batch at each one. I like the Booker's over EC and GTS jr most of the time:)' Your right Chad and Sara, you could do this flight fight numerous times and have a different winner each time but no losers.

Just picked up 2018-02 Backyard BBQ. Just as good as the others. Wasn’t crazy about sip awhile. Favorite so far is Tommys batch. How many bottles of each release do you purchase?

What should I expect to pay for retail (not secondary) for various Bookers? I occasionally see it at Kroger’s and chain liquor stores near me but I wasn’t sure if it’s worth the price or if certain varieties are commonly overpriced/not worth it

Hey...no worries you guys...it's Booker's against Booker's and that is VERY challenging. I have a lot of different bottles of Booker's AND...If pressed I would find it difficult to pick my favorite, as each time(different day) I will visit a Booker's batch where I thought it not so good compared to say Kathleen's batch (which I Soooo LOVE!) and Baam! I fall in love with it. I honestly feel that the air in the bottle does something nice to Booker's, so let them sit and oxidize and return months later and enjoy. Bottom line Chad & Sara...you can never go wrong with a batch of Booker's...well maybe that one batch Blue Knight's, it wasn't as good as Kathleen's batch :-} LOL!!! Another great episode Chad & Sara!

No, my time machine is broken, too. That phone is actually a Jim Beam decanter from the '70s. Pretty cool, right?

Can you use bookers in mixed drinks?

righyan bear Sure can. The high proof would cut through a cocktail easily so you could still get the bourbon flavor. However, that’s a pretty expensive bourbon to be using for cocktails. I would but Old Grand Dad 114 in a cocktail, or a high rye whiskey before using my Booker’s. We love Booker’s neat or with a few drops of water.

I just watched your "Chad is a Dog Dad" video and I have a few thoughts about get-togethers... If it's outdoors how about up in the mountains, higher elevation where it's cooler. Hot days in the sun and Bourbon... I don't know... When it's hot I naturally go for something watery... Ice Water, ya, that's perfect. Also, when it's hot I don't want something sweet. Here in Vermont we have beautiful summer weather, and it almost never is above 70 something degrees. 78 is a hot day for example. You guys... when you go to Texas in August, I think that is going to be excessively hot. I've gone to SIGGRAPH conventions in Dallas in August and 100 degrees in the Summer I think is pretty normal. How are you going to stay cool? 1000+ people, not enough room for folks to be indoors, August Texas heat... 100 degrees in the shade? You're going to need a lot of Ice Water. Cheers!

One thing to keep in mind is this video is over 3 years old. At that time, we were playing around $50 in our area for Booker's. The price increase from the distributors didn't really hit our area until 2021.
