When I was young and we were on a trip thru georgia on our way to florida we stopped for gas and there were water fountains marked white only and colored. This was humble af. I grew up around that word. But it was more of a "my homie" or even sometimes in frustration from people. But never about a black person. I'm terrified of accidentally saying it sometimes, more because it means nothing to me. I never think of a person when I say it. I think a lot of people are the same. And I remember it often meaning something more like "brother" "Friend" or even "RIGHT ON GOOD STUFF YOU LEGEND!" for 90% of the time. The bigger deal we make of some things some times the more power we give it.

When did people ever say "right on good stuff you Legend!" I was born to a white man, black woman, grew up in a NY neighborhood that had black people, white people, Hispanic people, asians, that neighborhood still does, but I've not once during my long ass 38 years heard anyone say "right on good stuff you legend!" Do you live in Kansas? Australia, perhaps?
