@rachorachev8905 Triple H is overated, not Jericho. Jericho was one of most talented wrestlers in the business. The only problem with him is that he stayed as an active wrestler for far too long. He's way past his prime.

Same, never was a big Jericho fan, but I respect him and his willingness to go out of his way to entertain the fans, I think he did the right thing in what the late 2010s by leaving WWE and joining AEW, he's a big star there, and finally got his chance to shine in the main event, it was a smart move on his part, had he stayed in WWE, he wouldn't have gotten passed the mid card. Idk if u know about the time when Vince dissed him when he was going to get the undisputed WWF championhip for the first time. .....so Vince was never big on him either.

I gotta disagree with Jericho on that bit with the last man standing match. Idk if anyone knew HHH was going into a program with Stone Cold and then later a 6 man HIAC match at the time but, HHH was involved in like 5 different storylines that year on his way to Austin. Having Jericho beat him would have HELPED him but would kinda derail the already stacked amount of storylines HHH is already involved with.

@shangarbagio
@shangarbagio 15 сағат бұрын
@klsecond5755 protection ain't what I'm getting at. HHH was in multiple feuds (the Rock, Undertaker, Kurt, Benoit, Y2J, and later Austin). If Y2J beat him there and then, that would have possibly started a major program with him and Jericho which would have probably added Jericho to the cell match instead of Rikishi which in hindsight would make even less sense story wise. They needed these one-off feuds to both get to Austin and build up HHH. Also, what was he gonna do about Kurt and Benoit? Who were all ALSO going at him at that time? What do you do with Rikishi? This Austin storyline was planned in advance, and Jericho going over Hunter in that match would complicate a lot of storylines they've spent almost a year building as it would've put Jericho in spot WWF was NOT ready to put him yet. It's like what happened with CM Punk during the Rock and Cena feud.

I do remember watching the match where Chris Jericho won the WWF Title from Triple H in 2000 & the crowd did lose their minds. I thought it was a shocking moment, but I didn't like how they had Y2J hand over the title back to Triple H. I think they could've done a rematch between Triple H & Jericho later that night with Triple H winning back the title. Also, I do agree with Jericho that he should've went over against Triple H at Fully Loaded. It wouldn't have hurt Triple H's image at all & it would've made Chris Jericho an even bigger star than when he came in.

If that McMahon statement about John Cena is true, that's insane. But in a way, it kind of makes sense, cause around the Ruthless Aggression era WWE stopped getting mega Rock, Austin, Hogan level stars. And it's probably because of people like McMahon and Triple H. McMahon didn't keep up with the times and lost his ability to see potential, and Triple H and his crew of politicians were desperate to protect their own spots by any means necessary, even if they mean push others down. But oddly enough, I think WWE is doing better under Triple H and Nick Khan.

It is because Triple H the administrator has much much better sense than Triple H the Wrestler. For one, as an administrator and also being the son-in-law of the founder, Triple H doesn't need to watch his back anymore because there is not much people can do to backstab him. So, he can freely focus on running the business. Plus, despite all his faults, I genuinely admire Triple H for his understanding and love for the business. I just wished Triple H had been more wiser as a wrestler. As an administrator, I admire and applaud him for the work he has done in taking WWE forward in the new era
@MattrickBT
@MattrickBT 11 сағат бұрын
No, it was because the for the entire attitude era there was basically 5 main event talents and most of them were gone or part time by 2003. They hadn't built up any midcarders from the AE to take their place so they were forced to push new talents hard. They put everything into Brock, who left in 2004. It was Triple H who was in charge of getting over Randy Orton and Batista and giving Cena his most credible victory in 2006. Far, far more talent were held back to keep Cena on top than anything else.
@aswinastro
@aswinastro 11 сағат бұрын
@@MattrickBT I am sorry, I understand it has been quite long since the Attitude Era (Which practically ended in the late 2000s and barely sustaining till WM 2001). Contrary to what young people today may think, it was more than Austin, Rock or HOgan. In the Attitude Era, the entire roster was filled with talent. We had the best Cruiserweight or Light Heavyweight championships (As WWE called it then) and had very talented wrestlers such as Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, and the Huricane + Morrison competing for it. We also had future stars like Eddie Guerraro who fought for the European and Intercontinental championships. Then, for the Intercontinental Championships, we had great rivalries such as Stone Cold vs the Rock (In mid 90s), then the Rock vs HHH (A brief IC feud which continued to the World title ranks) and then perhaps the best in terms of quality( Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit). Plus, the Tag teams were the best in the Attitude era - The Dudley Boys, The Hardys, Edge and Christian and hell, we also had the Acolytes (Farooq and Bradshaw). Even for the Hardcore championships, we had legends such as Mick Foley, then we had regulars such as Steve Blackman, Hardcore Holly, Crash Holly and even the Undertaker who competed for the Hardcore titles. Even the Women's division had huge depth with the likes of Trish Stratus, Lita, and many others adding depth. To put it shortly, the Attitude Era was a culimation of one of the most talented WWE rosters. and the fact that the likes of Austin, Foley and the Rock putting over younger stars is WHAT HELPED WWE survive the wars and enter into dominance once again. People today need to first refresh their understanding of what happened before they pass statements.
@aswinastro
@aswinastro 11 сағат бұрын
Plus, Randy and Batista were put over only because RAW by mid 2000s were bereft of talent. Plus, they were all buddies of Triple H. Please read actual accounts of wrestlers, who WERE in the ring, before we pass statements. Triple H today is A GREAT ADMINISTRATOR and has done good. But the Triple H of the mid 2000s was burying talent left, right and center. Booker T was legitimately becoming a Top Star and he was buried in that match. Nobody with an ounce of credibility would have a look at the storyline and can tell me with a straight face that Triple H winning and the manner in which he won DID ANY GOOD to anyone, except himself.
@MattrickBT
@MattrickBT 10 сағат бұрын
@@aswinastro You need to learn how to read. You named a bunch of wrestlers for no reason because I specifically said MAIN EVENT TALENTS. The Attitude Era had 5 main eventers. That's it. If you want to include HBK/Hart at the very start or Angle at the very end, okay, but they weren't really top guys during the entire AE era. You are the one who needs to refresh their understanding. HHH beat Booker T at WM19 because they had just signed Goldberg and they wanted to do HHH vs. Goldberg, and for that match to be the most effective, HHH had to retain. If you want to nitpick about the finish to the WM19 match, go for it. But HHH retained for a specific, long-term reason. Otherwise HHH would have had to win the title right back from Booker T, which would be MORE damaging to Booker T than if he lost at WM19. I was a huge Booker T fan and was pulling hard for him to win at WM19. But the fact remains that going into The Ruthless Aggression Era is that Stone Cold was retiring, Rock was leaving for Hollywood, and Mick Foley was winding down. Undertaker was a few years away from going part-time. The ONLY Attitude Era main eventer who worked full-time for entire Ruthless Aggression era was Triple H. They used his reign with Evolution to build up Orton and Batista, and then Triple H put over John Cena at WM22. Lest not forget Triple H put over Benoit what, 3 straight matches? WWE did the smart thing and heavily invested in a known, main event commodity who was going to be around for the future. And look how well that paid off for them. Only salty jabronis who cried about it on message boards in the 2000s couldn't see this.
