Marijuana prohibition has never truly been about adverse health effects, it’s always been money motivated. But ironically when Colorado legalized recreational use a lot of the support efforts was comparing marijuana to alcohol and normalizing its use for the general public.

Because Texas, like my home state, is very conservative. My state has medical marijuana but it’s largely a farce. The medical conditions that actually qualify for medical marijuana are extreme. For example in my state you couldn’t get medical marijuana for something normal such as pain management let’s say. Basicsllt you have to have some extreme form of cancer to qualify. But the reason for that is my state is very conservative and that voter base has many people that still see marijuana as a bad thing. As it becomes more accepted it’ll finally happen but not as long as the voter base may not support it.
