Adventures with Waffles is in English. I really liked the Astrid book which I would never have heard of if not for your channel. I know I sound like a broken record but I wish more adults would read middle grade. Astrid is a great example of that. It basically reminded me of a Fredrick Backman book but for a younger audience. I'm jealous you got that copy of Alloy of Law at the flea market!! Awesome find. I read Crying in H Mart last year b/c I like Korean cooking and sometimes go to the Korean grocery store although we don't have an H Mart where I live. I had no idea the author is in a semi-famous band which is why some people picked it up but it might mean you'll enjoy it even more. It was a touching memoir and I really enjoyed it.

Oh wow! That´s a strange/funny title! Glad you liked Astrid. I do agree that more grown ups should try reading stuff written for other age groups. I try to preach it at least. Seems like crying in h mart is the novel people are most into here and you are right, the association to a band I did not know about and might just make me like it/like it more!

Where Did You Go, Bernadette is actually quite funny, despite the good reads choice award

I understand what you mean about book dimensions. I find 6x9 inches (15.24x22.86 cm) to be the most comfortable for the way a paperback feels in my hands. A hardback can be a bit larger. I’m trying to switch to an eReader to save shelf space, but it’s so difficult to pry my eyes away from black text on white paper, especially when I stare at a computer monitor all day for work. The trial’s and tribulations of being a book worm. 🤷♂️ Enjoy your vacation! 😊 😺✌️

That is very specific, I love it! I get what you mean with the e-reader.. I have thought of getting myself a new one that supports library-funtions.. It would be amazing to have a library with me on vacation etc but it would be a shame to never go bookbuying again..

@@becomingabookworm It would be an absolute shame! Nothing feeds my soul like shopping for and finding used books I want to read. 😊

Thanks! I am loving the book so far! I went to a bookstore yesterday and browsed through their Murakami selection and I was happy to see that I have a lot of novels to get through later. Thanks for the recommendations. I will take a look :)

@@becomingabookworm Well. I'm very happy for you :) I hope you don't do the same mistake I did. Enjoy your Murakami slowly. :D I thinK I'll get to his last couple of books this coming winter :)

I'm hoping to get to Mistborn this month, although my TBR was a bit ambitious, so we'll see 😅 I've only heard good things about Crying in H Mart, but I believe it's about grieving the loss of her mother, so if it's funny, it's also surely blended with tough topics too ^^'

Ambitious TBRs is what we are here for :)! If Crying at H Mart is about a dark topic but still manages to be funny it has the potential for me to love it I think!

If you ever do a book un-haul, it would be great if you shared it with us! 📚

That is noted! Should probably do one this year, it is starting to get a bit tight to fit in all books in my shelves..

I did not find Crying in H Mart funny at all, in fact I DNFed it because it was so sad and dark. It had details of abuse, grief, loss, and illness. It didn’t make me cry but I’ve heard of several people who bawled their eyes out reading it.

Oh wow.. I think this might be an instance where I have initially made an assumption about a book and just stuck to it without actually checking.. Still would be interested to read it though..
