Bookmark with Don Noble: John Berendt (2000)

Fascinating. The very handsome and talented John Berendt wrote a modern masterpiece with "Midnight........." Like "In Cold Blood," it is perfectly crafted. (Though a very different book). I've read it at least three times, and I know I will read it again. I wish i had written it.

Absolutely spot on with his comment that Midnight drew readers from all over the world to Savannah. A huge fan (just reread it for the 5th time) I visited Savannah from South Africa some years ago after I'd read it. Fascinating, both book and Savannah.
