I agree with Books of Blood. I am in Modesto just up the road, and only have one used book store here, and thankfully a B & N I have to drive 55 miles to Dublin to go to a Savers Thrift store that has a bunch of books. Also, a new Half Price Books store that is new. Wish I lived near more book stores/outlets!! Have a great week, Cameron!!

@@LibraryMacabre I wish there was a store like that in Amsterdam (where I live). Will probably never find 70's / 80's English / American horror books over here. I remember a thrift store with a lot of books. I used to go there quite often. Most of the books were Dutch. And then they have a section with "English". All genres and types of books mixed up 😂 And these stores never have a horror section. If you're very lucky you might find a Dutch Stephen King book 😂 which I already have. Or a Dutch Goosebumps book in very bad condition. So yeah, I shop online for all the good stuff, but it can get very expensive. Lucky you, to find such treasure for such low prices!

Daniel Cohen is one of the most important writers in my life. He taught me that I can find the paranormal interesting without believing every claim or story I hear. I didn’t read much kid’s fiction when I was younger (exception: the Prydain Chronicles), but I read a bunch of paranormal and spooky folklore books.

I clicked immediately when I saw this video. 😍 Your home has a 2nd and Charles store! We had one here in Naperville, IL (the only one I think I was told). It didn't last long. I think it was just in a bad location and not enough advertisement. 3 hated that it left. Soooooo, I guess Ohio is another reason to visit. You got some great books and please don't take this the wrong way; I thought your sister would be the "prim and proper" type (nothing wrong with that) but it's fun to see she looks to be a "free spirit. I think my town is in a dimension where Point Horror, Fear Street , and anything Christopher Pike just doesn’t exist . However ... I did just order 77 Nancy Drew / Hardy Boys / Agatha Christie books from the 1930s - 80s. So I’ll take what I can get . You’re one lucky boy. One of my friends a few hours away just got back from this store and now I see this. I did not know this store chain existed. And I apparently have one 20 mins from me! So excited to check that out. I hope you already have Animorphs #51 because that one is super hard to find for less than an arm and a leg! It's the last one I need so I've pretty much resigned myself to only having that via ebook. Nice haul!

I have a bunch of thrift stores near me, but they very rarely have horror paperbacks, possibly due to resellers that are to quick for me. Luckily my other comfy genre, weird 60s and 70s sci-fi, hasn’t had its own “Paperbacks From Hell” equivalent so they’re still dirt cheap when you can find them. I did find a bunch of cool horror paperbacks for just a dollar each at a yard sale yesterday including a pretty beaten up copy of The Bachman Books, which normally costs upwards of $20 online since it includes Rage.

It adds value to my collection. Most people who collect books collect first editions. I have thousands of books, so if I die tomorrow and none of my books were first editions, by family would be stuck with thousands of books of less value and would probably have to just donate them. But since most are first editions, my family would be able to sell them and I’d be able to leave something of value behind to them. Otherwise, why spend money on books when you can just get them from a library? They still read the same. 😎
