I know this is way past the date of this video but after ordering this book, I just had to comment on what a GORGEOUS book it is! My head hurts from all the ideas I’m getting! The only project I’ve done so far is a card for a friend’s birthday…it shows her wearing a crown, her dog, and me in the background and we are both holding wine glasses LOL She loved it! I’ve been going thru my paint stash and painting old papers and pages, too. Fairly new subbie here as well! You hooked me after watching your video based on Arne and Carlos’ book. Thank you for an infusion of creativity that will last my lifetime💕

Fabulous, book ordered. Another UK collage artist is Emily Schofield (Art with Em), she uses the same technique as Clover Robin, along with coloured pencils.

I just bought this book and made my first collage (cityscape). Your tip about deli paper and alcohol ink for a translucent look was PRICELESS. I needed to make clouds and that would have been perfect. But love your review and I too LOVE THIS BOOK. thanks!!

Update: I just looked back through the magazine I was talking about and saw that it IS the same lady! I should have known. I poured over the pictures of her work for so long... it was my favorite part of this volume of Project Calm!!!!!!!! I need that book! Thank you so much for sharing.

I LOVE the book, Syllabus and have went on to purchase Several of her other books of which I am currently savoring, Making Comics. I’m in LOVE with her book and approach to art. I also purchased the Idea Book by Arne and Carlos thanks to you😀 after watching your videos and creating 2 books in this method ( and another in progress ) I really appreciate you sharing your ideas. Love the collages you made...I was at a Thrift Shop today and bought “Decorative Papercuttong” by Akiko Murooka. It’s not quite what you’re doing (a little more precise) but has some good ideas anyway. I may try my hand at paper cutting yet! Thnx Melanie.

I have an Epson Artisan 1430 inkjet printer. It's a large-format (up to 11x17") printer that was marketed for printing photographs. It has six separate ink cartridges and I go through a lot of ink, but it prints like a dream. I think this model is discontinued, but maybe you can find them used. It's a great printer.

Is there a copyright issue when you use those papers from magazines, book pages, and sheet music and publish your artwork in any form?

Copyright is such a complicated subject. As far as using small portions of book pages and sheet music in your artwork, I think most of it would fall under fair use and as it has been massively transformed from its original purpose, so I'm not too worried about it. There's a lot of good information out there on copyright law and art, but just be sure what you're reading is actually coming from an attorney.
